About Adam Williams

Hello! My name is Adam, to be candid I've only really been playing D&D for a little over a year now. But I've been the DM for 2 different campaigns and a PC in 3 other campaigns. I had bee wanting to get into it a long time ago but thought it was a little intimidating and hard to find a game I would feel comfortable in. So, my main goal here is to lower the barrier to entry for new players! I will mainly be running one-shots, which are small "episodes" that can be started and finished within one session (usually about 3 hours). This helps new players get a feel for gameplay without a huge commitment. If I get enough requests I'd be more than happy to run a longer campaign! Please message me if you have any questions!

How Adam Williams runs games

I play with respects to what will produce the best and most interesting story. I follow the rule-of-cool, and I encourage my players to come up with unique or even ridiculous solutions to the situations I put them in. I try to plan out what I can, but I also LOVE to improve, so if you derail what I had in mind, no problem! I like to use a mix of sandbox and railroading, I like to imagine I run campaigns kinda like how Avatar the Last Airbender show was paced, a mix of comedy and fun with a sprinkle of critical and serious elements, where every interaction builds a character arc in some way. I also love it when my players goof off and I try to make their decisions have an impact that I can play off of later. Lots of bits too, god I love bits.

Rules are...

Meant to be pushed. If a PC has a dope idea about solving a problem I am so exited to see it either fail or succeed spectacularly. No rule should get in the way of telling a memorable story

Adam Williams's ideal table

1.) Share the spotlight - everyone should take turns having "main character" moments 2.) Commit to the Bit(s) - Keep it fun and funny, there will be times for serious and or sad moments, but the majority of the time you should feel comfortable and encouraged to make a joke 3.) Dont be afraid to fail - sometimes a critical failure tells a more interesting or funnier story than a critical success 4.) Dont be a jerk - pretty simple.
