About Tevin

I love board games, gaming and CAD design. I often print things using a 3D printer and code here and there for small household projects. I picked up Dungeons and Dragons as a way to connect with friends and share experiences. I have around 4 years of Dungeons and Dragons 5e GMing and still continuing a campaign with the friends that I have met in college. I have both years of experience of playing virtual tabletop and in person tabletop games and have gained the experience needed to keep my players engaged and wanting to learn more about the world.

I got started GMing...

As a way to get together with my friends in college. Every week we would take a study break and just chat and have a good time coming up with the craziest story's each trying to top each others jokes while keeping a suspenseful and thrilling story.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Creative Problem Solver.

When I'm not running games I'm...

3D modeling/ 3D printing, Video Gaming, enjoying a nice walk on a cool day.

How Tevin runs games

I would describe myself as a creative thinker and designer. I use a lot of inspiration from games that I play and incorporate in my own unique way to the table. Finding new ways to keep both combat and puzzle solving engaging has been my specialty when it comes to my experience with tabletop games. At the table I keep role-playing fun and lighthearted by trying to have interesting and unique NPC conversations that are very rememberable.

I once ran a session...

Where there was a magic butler that defended the players form a horde of werewolf while vlogging everything. It lead to funny moments as the players tried to escape

I prep by

Taking inspiration from games that I have played or reading up puzzle ideas. I also enjoy taking notes as I play

My games focus on...

30% Combat 15% puzzles 40% role playing 15% exploring

Tevin's ideal table

Players should expect to be in a friendly environment where its okay to stop and think about what it is best for an interaction or combat. Players will also experience deadly fights and some puzzles that will make them think out of the box before getting a hint. Players that will fit well at my table are those who seek character development with storytelling, (reasonable) creative problem solving, and seeing their powerful builds come together.

I love it when a player

Think of a creative way of getting out of combat. Integrating with the other players solving puzzles using there own way

I think it's a red flag when players...

Try to take the spotlight for to long, tell other player how to play the game, don't communicate things that would make other players uncomfortable.

I think min/maxing...

its fine if the entire table is doing the same thing. i love seeing strategy's of boosting one player up. Rules as written will be followed. but don't expect the crazy build to work every time I am not a fan if infinite damage combos or exploiting spell slots.
