About Robert
Well met, adventurers! I'm a DM with over seven years of experience running games for 5e and have had the good fortune of finishing multiple campaigns, many of which lasted for over a year. Whether you're a veteran or a novice, a min-maxer or a casual player, a serious role player or a player who just wants to do an old-fashioned dungeon crawl; odds are I've already hosted a game that's exactly the sort of thing you're looking for! I like to start off each campaign (and even one shots) with a session zero in order to ensure a smooth start to an experience where everyone at the table can get the most out of the adventure. I'm familiar with most of the 5e modules published by WotC, but am no stranger to creating campaigns from scratch. In either case, I strive to incorporate player characters into the plot to make players feel integral to the story. Everyone should have their time in the spotlight! I could talk about myself more, but the best way to get to know me is to join the Discord we'll be using for our games. That way I can personally answer any questions you might have about the games I run and how I run them. Join our Discord by using this link: https://discord.gg/BnqFAE6axE

I got started GMing...
at my LGS, shortly after I started playing D&D 5e. I got hooked into the hobby by watching Critical Role, and the first campaign I ran was built out of the original Tal'Dorei source book and ended up going until level 20. I took that game online during the pandemic, and kept playing online.
My favorite shows/movies are
Television/Streaming: - Andor - Better Call Saul - Mob Psycho 100 Actual Play: - Exandria Unlimited: Calamity - The Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One - Dimension 20: A Starstruck Odyssey
When I'm not running games I'm...
often listening to actual plays like Dimension 20 or Worlds Beyond Number. I also play a lot of Magic the Gathering, usually on MTG Arena while I'm listening to the aforementioned actual plays. Currently watching: Andor Currently playing: Deltarune Currently reading: Raising Steam
How Robert runs games
- I begin every campaign with a FREE session zero where players and the DM can all collaborate in character creation. I offer suggestions and advice on how to build a character that fits the setting, but am also open to creating space in the adventure for original backstory elements. - I love both roleplay and combat, but can adjust the balance between them as the players at the table prefer. - I'm a hands-on DM who can assist new players in building their first characters, or nerd out with veterans over their broken min-max builds. - I will bend rules, but not break them. I will let you attempt anything as long as it is feasibly possible and does not contradict a rule of the game.

I prep by
staying in communication with my players. It all starts at session zero when we figure out who your character is, what their goals are, and how adventuring brings them closer to those goals. But it doesn't stop there: I keep in touch on Discord so we can iron out details and plan with you in mind.
My games focus on...
the player characters. The PCs should be the focus of any game, and I work with my players in session zero to help build a character who have a place in the world. Even though I run published adventures, we can still build relevant backstory that makes your journey unique.
Rules are...
the difference playing a TTRPG and playing Calvinball. In order to immerse yourself into a compelling story, there need to be meaningful stakes. In order for stakes to be meaningful, characters have to have limitations. In order for limitations to be fair, they need to be standardized.
Robert's ideal table
My ideal table is populated with players who are invested in the story and build characters that match the tone of the adventure.
Featured Prompts
I love it when a player
comes to me with ideas about their characters, especially when it matches the vibes of the adventure.
I think min/maxing...
is perfectly valid. The rules are there to be engaged with, and I only ask that you engage with the story of the game as well as the mechanics of the game.
My table is not the place for...
hogging the spotlight. Every player at the table should get the chance to shine!
