About Omar Krieg
Active GM and streamer for last several years, versed in numerous RPGs and willing and interested in learning more systems in order to tell the most interesting interactive stories possible. I like to bring my own personal experiences and knowledges into the games I play, with an effort at making the games more interesting, real to life, but ultimately fun and enjoyable for all participants. I have been creative for most of my life, active in roleplaying games since my early teenage years, and a gamemaster for several years online now. I enjoy the idea of bringing people's character concepts and their own stories and ideas together, meshing them into one cohesive whole, and thereby create a new shared experience that everyone can, in the future, look back on with a warm smile and fond memories.

I got started GMing...
Initially cuz it was easier to find a game if I offered to be the GM. But then I realized I'm usually the one with the story to tell or an idea to try to flesh out. Since then I've GMed countless game sessions both in person and online, and lately I've tried to find games to join as a player!
My favorite shows/movies are
Science fiction, fantasy, character driven arcs. The Expanse, For All Mankind, Stranger Things, Black Sails, Lost, Battlestar Galactica. A good story about the human condition no matter the venue will usually catch me at some point, and make me wanna look more into it.
When I'm not running games I'm...
I have a full time job Monday through Friday (and some Saturdays), and my youngest son lives with me. Beyond that, I'm either game / stream prepping for the games I run, playing video games I enjoy or watching one of a few TV shows I'm into of late.
How Omar Krieg runs games
I love roleplay heavy scenes and stories, interspersed with combat fitting the game system/universe as needed. Let the players tell their story and do their actions and use the dice to see how well those things come to be or pass.

I deal with rules issues by...
Whats the book say? Is that agreeable? Is there another way that might be better? Moving forward, do we proceed with the agreed upon change, or is this changing the rules a one-time thing?
I prep by
Outlines. I love outlines in a word doc for this sort of thing. it helps me keep all the crazy thoughts in some semblance of order. And, once I start organizing the myriad thoughts into cohesiveness, then its easier to identify what other assets I need, such as models or maps for TTS. or sheets.
Rules are...
Rules are a solid guideline, the best place to start when attempting to resolve something. I do enjoy RAW, as thats typically how the game was meant to be played. But at the same time, the players (and the GM!) are here to have fun, so sometimes deviated from as written is almost a necessity.
Omar Krieg's ideal table
The ideal table is merely people who can get along with each other and the GM, communicate openly, freely and clearly, and are willing to play the game for the enjoyment of everyone else at the table.

I love it when a player
Has awesome ideas and inspiration for the character. This typically ends up fueling my own ideas to throw at your character in order to make the story more interesting. This is a collaborative effort, after all; I don't wanna do all the work myself, but I can if needed.
I think min/maxing...
Is a playstyle. I don't typically agree with this in a roleplaying game because I like the idea of characters not great at many things, and that this adds depth to your character. That said, I get it, some people are into that. Just, try not to be too obvious that you are, ok?
My table is not the place for...
We all have our own opinions and beliefs about things in the world. That's cool. We may not even agree on some of them, and that IS PERFECTLY FINE TOO! What we can't do is argue about these things at the table, so best to just leave em at the door, honestly, for the good of everyone.
