About Jessica (Mansey)

💖 “As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen.” 💖 Hi there! I'm Jess (she/her) an avid D&D fan who loves to tell stories with friends. I've been DMing for over 8 years and playing D&D 5e for about 10 in mostly all online spaces. I'm a avid world builder, map maker and story teller who loves all things fey and fable. As a female, queer, neurodivergent I strive to make my games a comfortable space for all who wish for a safe, fun and friendly environment because after a long time in online spaces I've realised that carving out such a space takes a lot of energy and very similar people to make it work. A former theatre kid, of course, my love for exploring fun dramatics and new characters can never be quenched. I enjoy running character driven narratives that explore whimsy & moral dilemmas all at once. A fun blend of crunchy mechanics, creative problem solving and beautiful maps so that you can always visualise the scene that you're in without getting lost (I personally struggle with aphantasia and started making my own maps for games I played in to help with combat and other things!) More than anything, I love communicating with players, celebrating their characters, and building stories around the things they care about. If you hand me a backstory detail, a relationship, a goal, or a weird little character quirk, there’s a very good chance I’m going to find a way to make it matter. So, hop on into the fairy ring (I promise it's safe and fun) and come explore a homebrew world of fey with me 💖

I started running games because...

I loved creating stories with my friends. Building a world for them felt like a way of showing how much I loved and appreciated them by filling it little moments made especially for the people at my table. Creating something together that feels uniquely ours is still one of my favourite things!

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

I asked my players and the three most common were Creative, Fun & Patient. There were a couple of 'Tricksy' thrown in there, but that might be the fae in me :)

When I'm not running games I'm...

When I’m not running games, I’m usually playing them, building worlds and maps, collecting TCGs, making something crafty, or hanging out with my dog Zelda. If I’m not creating a story, I’m probably getting far too invested in someone else’s.

How Jessica (Mansey) runs games

My style is very character driven. I love roleplay, watching characters grow over time, and building stories around the choices, relationships and little details my players care about. Expect emotional beats, plenty of humour, surprises, and moments that can go from heartfelt to wonderfully chaotic. When combat happens, I like it to feel cinematic and meaningful rather than just a string of dice rolls. I love using beautiful custom maps, interesting environments and encounters that give players room to be creative. My favourite sessions are the ones where everyone leaves excited about what their party just did and wondering what on earth is coming next. I use Roll20 and D&DBeyond for my online games, along with Discord for hosting sessions with mics & webcams. You can use real or digital dice, completely up to you, and any help you need with creating character sheets or tokens I would be more than willing to help!

Jessica (Mansey)'s ideal table

My ideal table is full of fun, kind and patient people who want to tell a story together. I love players who are excited about their own characters, curious & celebrate everyone else’s, and happy to share the spotlight so the whole group gets to shine. I prefer having webcams and mics so everyone can interact and see each other during sessions.
