About GusNBru (JD)
I'm a bit older, (57) But super young at heart. I played my first D&D game in the summer of 1975 at 7 years old. I grew up in a town where the famed "Judges Guild" was located and played at their facility as a kid. I've played the game off and on most of my life. In 2013 at 45 years old I went back to college to earn an additional degree. It just so happened that my daughter also attended the same school. The following year, we got together, along with some other friends of various ages and created a Tabletop Gaming Club. It quickly grew to the largest club on campus by the end of the year. Each week we regularly had more than 60 people playing Dungeons and Dragons! That said, its hard these days to find people to play with where I live so I've turned to online and I decided to dust off my DM boots and put together some fun stuff. Rather than run a long term campaign, my first offering here on the platform is "players choice" which I'm sure you have seen already in the game listing. My playstyle is simple. Rule of Cool prevails, and choices have consequences, both for the player and DM. The games for now are free, but some that I have planned in the future will cost just $5. If you have any questions at all, feel free to DM me.

People are always surprised when I tell them
My age. I mean, I'm Gen X. I was 30 when I was 12 and at 57 I'm stuck on 28 :)
When I'm not running games I'm...
When I'm not running a game I'm usually playing The Elder Scrolls Online or Hearthstone. I also have a D&D project I have been working on for quite some time that I intend to publish on the DM's Guild.
How GusNBru (JD) runs games
Firstly, what I believe the game is supposed to be is a cooperative experience between DM and Player in order for some kind of story to be told. That is unless you're doing a Dungeon delve then the order of business there is to explore and eliminate the baddies :) If you don't know something, I take the time to teach. No question is a dumb one. I have been doing this so long that I get along very well with all players of any age. Anyone who wants to play is welcome at my table. It's all inclusive. I am not a voice actor, but I may at times use a voice changer on my PC to help facilitate a better experience. Most importantly, I am not charging 10, 15, 20 bucks a session because ... #1. I want to play Dungeons & Dragons #2. Because I want to play, I will not treat this like a part time job I 'have' to do. Rather, It will be treated for what it is, a great way for people of all ages and types to come together and experience the "World's Greatest Roleplaying Game" in a fun and exciting way. The money I am charging for some games will do a few things. It will help to pay for any subscriptions, any books or materials needed to provide the games, and a little of that goes back to a player at the end of the adventure in the form of a prize. (More details on that when you sign up for a paid game.)

Rules are...
meant to be broken. A great deal of rules in a TTRPG are guidelines and things that help facilitate gameplay rather than own it. In my games, if something cool, unique, and feasible for a player to do is done, but goes against the rules... usually, the rule of cool is going to prevail.
GusNBru (JD)'s ideal table
My ideal table is one where people come to gather for a story and an adventure. A table where all are accepted regardless of age, race, religion, gender affiliation, or political affiliation. The Game Table is a place to forget about the real world, engage with your character and create memories.
