About Drew
I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs since 2019 and running games since 2021, both online and in person. Outside of TTRPGs, I’ve worked as a software developer for the past four years, and I’m also a big reader. A lot of the books I love influence the way I run games, especially when it comes to character relationships, emotional moments, and that sense of being completely swept up in a story. What I love most about tabletop RPGs is the chance to roleplay, tell stories with other people, and create memorable moments together. I especially enjoy character interaction and romance in storytelling, and one of my biggest goals as a GM is to create D&D stories that capture some of the same feelings that my favourite books do. Most of my experience is with D&D 5e, both as a player and as a GM, and I’m very comfortable running games online using Roll20, Discord, and D&D Beyond. I aim to create welcoming, inclusive, and engaging games for both newer and more experienced players, with a balance of roleplay, exploration, combat, and character-driven moments. I also play Vampire: The Masquerade and would love to run it in the future. I also have two cats, who are very supportive of my tabletop hobby from a distance.

I became a GM because
I had stories I wanted to tell, and I love exploring lore, worldbuilding, and all the different characters that make a game feel alive.
My favorite books are
Twilight, House of Night, ACOTAR, and a lot of Ali Hazelwood’s books, along with the occasional murder mystery. I think all of them have shaped the way I tell stories and the kind of emotional, character-driven experience I want to create at the table.
When I'm not running games I'm...
I’m usually spending my time reading, programming, playing video games, or enjoying a trip to the theatre.
How Drew runs games
I run immersive, roleplay-focused games where story, character interaction, and emotional moments are at the heart of the experience. I love giving players space to connect with the world, build relationships with NPCs and each other, and create memorable moments that feel meaningful beyond just the mechanics of the game. My games usually balance roleplay, exploration, combat, and character-driven choices, but I naturally lean most toward roleplay and storytelling. I enjoy combat when it feels meaningful and exciting, rather than just something to fill time, and I like players to feel that their choices matter both in and out of battle. I’m especially drawn to strong character dynamics, atmosphere, and the kind of storytelling that makes you feel invested in the people and the world around them. I aim to create welcoming, inclusive, and beginner-friendly tables where players feel comfortable getting involved, whether they’re brand new or more experienced. I also like using music and atmosphere to support immersion, and I’m happy to encourage extra roleplay outside of sessions when it adds to the story.
Drew's ideal table
My table is collaborative, friendly, and welcoming, with a strong focus on making sure everyone feels included and has space to contribute. I enjoy players who are excited to engage with the world, work together as a group, and help build memorable moments as a team. You do not need to be a confident roleplayer or know every rule to fit in well at my table newer players are very welcome. The people who fit best are those who are kind, communicative, respectful of others, and willing to lean into the adventure. The overall vibe at my table is supportive, immersive, and balanced. I like a mix of roleplay, tension, humour, and character-driven moments, while keeping the table comfortable and enjoyable for everyone involved.
