About Ivan

Hello! I’ve been playing tabletop games since 2013! I’ve introduced countless friends to D&D. I started in 4e and moved to 5e as it came out and have been playing it ever since. I focus on collaborative story telling, where the players and their decisions are the focus of the story. To me, the fun in the story we craft together.

How Ivan runs games

I run roleplay focused games with high stakes combat. The goal is for everyone to have a moment to shine at the appropriate moment. We’re all here to have fun, my role is to provide the platform and world for that fun.

My games focus on...

Story telling. My goal is to have a collaborative story telling experience where every player has their chance to showcase their character. I do enjoy combat, but it is always in service to the larger narrative and to change the pace of the session.

Rules are...

A framework we use to play the game. Any ruling I make during a session does not have to be final and any concerns are more than welcome to be discussed outside of the session. I am open to house rules and modifications as long as they are in service to the group/party.

Ivan's ideal table

I just want to create a space that's dedicated to having fun and letting our creativity and imagination run wild! This is a time to come in and live out a different life, in a different world. The dynamic outside of the table should be chill and easy going, with the intention of being a safe space to encourage all players to be safe exploring their characters as fully as they'd like.

I think it's a red flag when players...

Not engaged when someone else in the party is taking their turn, whether is simply role play or combat. The group is a party during our time together on the table and above the table.
