About Shawn
Originally from California, I now live in Vietnam with my wife and two children. I started playing D&D in 1995, but soon branched out to other systems, such as WEG Star Wars and Ars Magica. I didn't start GMing until about 5 years ago when I moved to Vietnam. I had a lot of free time and had trouble finding games online. I had done a lot of writing, so decided to turn that experience into trying to run games. I've tried to host games when I can, while also working on my game design.

all the jobs I've held over the years and the things I studied in university before zeroing in on what I wanted for my final degrees. Jobs: newspaper delivery, Navy, insurance, restaurant, newspaper editor, lab tech, driver, teacher "majors": molecular bio, English, history, East Asian Languages

teaching Primary and Early Secondary students. When I'm not doing that I'm designing content and creating videos when I can.
How Shawn runs games
I have two primary sources of experience that shine through in my GMing. The first is being a fan and writer of fantasy/science fiction. I love telling stories and ttrpgs are shared storytelling. The second is being former military. From that experience I bring a somewhat tactical mindset. While setting up general scenes I prefer theatre of the mind, when it comes time for action I love to set up maps and bring that to life.
