About DM Corn

Hello! My name is Cory and I am a Mailman from Baltimore! As a professional GM, my job is to give you the most engaging, connected, and immersive game possible. I promise every session you book will be professional and detailed. The effort I've put into these campaigns is worth the cost. I'm a board member in Baltimore for BMORE Community Theatre. We're a non-profit organization that aims to bring theatre to everyone of all ages here in the East side of Baltimore. In the summer of 2026 well be holding a summer camp for kids ages 8-16 as an introduction into theatre where I'll be helping to give improv classes and teaching people about how fun and connective roleplaying can be! I've been DMing for my friends since early college. (2015-ish) We all knew we'd like to try playing after one of my friends bought the starter set and after a bit of trepidation from the group I ended up taking the mantle as GM.... Forever GM unfortunately/fortunately. Since then my groups have come and gone as time and jobs pulled us apart, but fun times and unforgettable memories were made with those friends, who became even more dear to me through our connection in D&D. I have two very loving black cats named Prismo and Marceline that love to get in my face while I DM online. So you'll probably get to meet them at some point when I have my camera on for a session. I also have an adorable cocker spaniel named Kiki!

I became a GM because

I was tired of hearing my friends complaining that they'd love to try D&D, but were intimidated to start a campaign. I took up the mantle and haven't let it go yet.

My favorite books are

The Way of Kings Red Rising Saga Kingkiller Chronicles

When I'm not running games I'm...

Delivering mail, running a new PoE character, fixing up my rowhome in Baltimore, playing golf, or listening to a new book series

How DM Corn runs games

Some quick hitters here up front: We are universally inclusive here 🏳️‍🌈 Players must be 18+ We use a session zero - There we will establish some core safety tools to be used both during and after the game. My games run about 70/30 roleplay to combat. All character races are welcome. No spells are banned until proven to be a problem in the game. Please don't abuse this. I'll be using a pretty wide catalog of character voices. There will be sound effects and music provided by myself for almost every session. Microphone and Discord! The game will have a healthy mix of narrative choices, and character downtime. All my campaign settings are made by myself. (https://inkarnate.com/m/ZLdnvL) A little longer of an intro: My biggest strength as a DM according to my players is building compelling narratives with well balanced tension and meaningful encounters. My personal favorite part about being a DM is narrating character actions. To get the best results, I'll help take what is unique about your character and incorporate it into my world! The more fleshed-out we can make the character, the more they will feel alive when they swing their sword, or cast arcane spells. I want you to experience what your character feels, and to know they aren't just a stat block banging their sword against an enemy's HP. When I make a campaign It will be tailored heavily to you guys in the customized world I've built. Session Zero means the world to me. I want to be involved when making your character. I offer a free independent session privately with me before we start playing, so we can connect your character into my world. It helps build investment and connection which I think makes for the best games. I love backstory and will take as much as you can give me!

My games focus on...

Roleplay, story, tension, and collaboration! I struggle to pay attention if the story isn't moving and there's too little going on. I promise to keep everyone engaged and make the plot relevant to everyone. I had a DM so boring that I nodded off mid-session. I swore to never do that to my players.

Rules are...

"threats made by the dominant socioeconomic-ethnic group in a given nation. It’s just the promise of violence that’s enacted and the police are basically an occupying army. You know what I mean?” Luckily for the both of us; I'm a mailman!

When it comes to voices

I practice quite a few. My favorite is Patrick Warburton. I like to think my southern accent is pretty good, being from Maryland and all. I practice monster voices to really try and get the feel of their character. I'll also pre-record voices if I have a particular line that I know will come up soon

DM Corn's ideal table

The first thing and most important thing for anyone to know about my table is that I am running a collaborative game! I mean that in every sense of the word collaborative. I am on the same side as the players. The goal when playing with me at my table is to tell the most interesting story possible with every player as co-authors. I promise you that I will try my hardest to make whatever crazy ideas you come up with happen in my world within the rules. I want a table that's never afraid to speak up because they know that when they do, they'll be heard and their ideas will be respected. I need players with that same team mentality. The story of a campaign will likely never pit each of you against one another. In session zero I really want to make a connection between all your characters so we can get off to a fast start and we can skip the awkwardness that comes with introductions. The vibes should be electric, engaging and inclusive! There should be 1 or 2 combats a session. One Dangerous, one designed to be more fun/lighthearted. This is by no means a steadfast rule though. I also usually don't allow romantic relationships between characters unless consent from both parties have been reached PRIOR to in-game flirting. Flirting with an NPC is completely fine, but all steamy romantic scenes will be an immediate fade to black. You are free to attempt romancing a dragon at your own discretion. Just don't forget to create a backup character.

I love it when a player

Initiates conversation amongst their fellow party members. It's the greatest feeling in the world to see roleplaying/bonding events develop organically from player interaction. Never be afraid to voice an idea either. I am your friend as a DM. This story is ours to build.

My perfect party mix is

Literally anything. Have zero fear of rocking a party of 4 Fighters, or a team of all magic casters. I will manage combat with your parties loadout in mind. No two characters will be the same. Discovering what makes all of you different while similar is one of the greatest rewards a DM gets to have.

My table is not the place for...

Combative players. We don't do PVP unless the story absolutely demands we do for highly dramatic storytelling gold. Even then we need consent from both parties in case a character dies in the scene. Refer to my mention of collaborative storytelling in the blurb about my ideal table above.
