About Chelsey
My name is Chelsey, I have been playing TTRPG since my teens so over 20 years now. I am a creative writer and novelist of high fantasy style writings which I have also been doing for about 15 years. I have been running campaigns for four years now and still going, and I have always loved being creative, helping my friends escape the real world in immersing themselves in a world where they can be their most authentic selves and have the most fun and I genuinely enjoy creating new things and Home brewing campaigns so I get to be the curator of a whole New World but my players get to determine what their story is within that world. I choose who the BBEG and their minions are but the players choose the journey from point a to point Z and I love sitting back and letting them explore my world and truly enjoy the fruits of my labor yet I’m not afraid to hand the reins off and let them go left when I intended them to go right I am a very flexible game master and I care more about user experience than my own personal outcome. I, also, was recently apart of a wonderful DM school with Amy Vorpahl (seen on Dropout, Dimension 20, Critical Roll, and many other amazing projects!) it was such a rewarding experience and so great being taught by her.

I became a GM because
I became a GM because I wanted to expand my creative mindset. I love playing but getting to see my friends and players have fun in a world I got to create specifically for them.
People are always surprised when I tell them
People are always surprised when I tell them that I have no theater or improv background and I even get super nervous when I portray my NPCs in a role playing fashion. (Even though I know I don’t have to)
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Three words (or phrases) my players would use to describe me would be light hearted, not your grandmothers dm (thanks Amy!), and fun.
How Chelsey runs games
I rely on character backgrounds from players to form a customized game geared toward each individual and as the group total. I have no limit as to setting for said creative campaign, meaning if my players want a high stakes high fantasy, low steak, sci-fi, steampunk, real world, superhero or Anything else that can come to the imagination like having combat and puzzles being pretty evenly distributed throughout my game, but again if my players want more puzzles than combat, then they will get more puzzles than combat if they want more combat and almost no puzzles that is how the game will be. I am a flexible GM.

Rules are...
Have fun, be open to communication and exploring your inner goofball, and be authentic. My actual rules for games are typically discussed in a session 0 before the campaign starts. I want everyone to feel safe and have fun, and I will always advocate for that.
When it comes to voices
When it comes to voices I love attempting them even though I am not very good but I don’t force my players to do voices at all.
Chelsey's ideal table
Players that would do well at my table would be players who are open minded, if you’re new or a veteran, you are welcome at my table. I am not strict on rules and often try to form new ones with my players to better suit their gaming style and what the story might need. If you love the rules and follow the books to the letter then we might not be the best fit, but if you want to have a unique experience then I would love to have you at my table!

I love it when a player
I love it when a player is engaged and excited and willing to explore new things. I think people who will go into TTRPG’s with an open mind is a truly magical thing and can lead to a whole New World of fun.
