About Brett
Hi there, my friendly storytelling fiends. I'm Brett, a Dungeon Master who loves the moment when a story all comes together and an entire table stares at one another in disbelief. After several years playing Dungeons and Dragons as both a player and DM, and having fallen out of love with filmmaking because of the toxic industry, my bones crave the chance to tell meaningful and emotionally gratifying stories with others. I would love to play with you and see exactly what kind of experience we can build together. There is nothing quite like playing an immersive TTRPG, and I'd love to be someone to introduce you or give you a space to express yourself in one of the most unique and interactive storytelling mediums ever crafted.

I got started GMing...
with a Star Wars 5th Edition Campaign. With as little experience as I had, I tried to memorize the entirety of the lore leading up to and surrounding the Clone Wars. It did not go well. Following that, I decided to commit to making my own worlds and I have had so much fun and success following this.
How Brett runs games
As a storyteller at heart, I believe everything comes down to the roleplay and using the game mechanics and worldbuilding to supplement that. If you want to tell a dark high fantasy game like Grimhollow or Dungeons of Drakkenheim, not only will the roleplay contain heavy topics and conversations in-game, the combats designed will have an approach that will make you feel the weight of every single choice and mistake made. The focus will be on how the adventuring party deals with the deadly and horrific outside world. On the other hand, if you want to tell a more adventurous low fantasy steampunk game along the lines of Dimension 20's Cloudward, Ho! the roleplay will follow a more light-hearted approach, allowing for quips and jokes at the villains expense in the moment of combat. The focus being on interparty dynamics and the journey rather than the destination. My focus on roleplay first allows me to focus on the parts of the game, both story and mechanical, that the players and myself wish to engage with most. For example, a homebrew world of mine combines World War 2 and traditional High Fantasy, leading to a focus on heavy roleplay scenes broken up with lighter moments of connection, all reinforced by combat that is incredibly dangerous and a focus on set-pieces both combat and otherwise.
Brett's ideal table
If you love roleplaying both fun and serious scenes alike, my table will work well for you. There are few things I enjoy more than a group of players who want their characters to have those little moments that truly make the table come alive. Whether it's serious moments where the emotionally avoidant rogue's parental figure betrays them, or if it's the party having a massive talk with that one certain shopkeep that they are infatuated with for no particular reason, I adore it when everyone is completely locked into the moment and are effortlessly in character. Let's explore together! If you're new to TTRPG's or looking for your 4th Campaign to join this week, there is a place for you.
