About me
Hi! I'm Bri (she/her). Imagination has been a close friend of mine my whole life. I'm excited to bring it into TTRPG games with you all. I'm a literature and film major so building great and entertaining stories is my favorite thing to do. I've been playing and game mastering for about 5 years as the self-started/ self-appointed forever DM of my group. Brennan Lee Mulligan and Aabria Iyengar are my inspirations for GM'ing. Since a large majority of fantasy and sci-fi lacks melanated representation, I make it a point to always include it in my games. I also enjoy and create space for LGBTQIA+ in all of my games! So if you are craving that, we might be a good match for each other. I've been told NPC's and role playing are my strong suits in game so feel free to chat up that random NPC your character is interested in. I like to have a mix between social, exploration, and combat aspects in my game, but I'm free to adjust games to what the players prefer. Dungeons and Dragons 5e is my specialty but I'm also getting into Call of Cthulhu, Stargate, and Avatar Legends RPG's. My favorite VTT is Foundry/ The Forge. Just played my first game with Bri the Bold! She not only made the experience fun but she helped this not so techy savvy person ease her nerves about playing online. I'll be honest, I've tried playing in gaming stores with other DMs and there was always something off with the chemistry. Either they were too basic/generic or they were too strict and ruined the potential narrative. My last experience turned me off from playing with strangers for quite some time. Its not easy feeling comfortable at a table when you don't feel like you belong. Or when you're the only woman playing with a bunch of guys. Luckily, that wasn't the case with Bri the Bold. She was fun, easygoing, skilled and most importantly, made me feel safe to play.
Bri is just the best. So I've been out of playing DnD for a while and my regular group wanted to get back playing together again. So we decided to choose Bri as a DM for a one shot as a way to dipping back in. I admit I was a bit nervous heading into it as I didn't want to come off as rusty or inexperienced. From the start Bri was so welcoming, nice and made it very easy to get back into the groove of things. She's great at storytelling, really gets into the characters and is very open to player's roleplaying/decisions. Basically she makes it very easy to just have fun. After getting done playing, I'm already wanting to jump in another game. I would definitely use Bri again as a DM and would highly recommend her to anyone.
I've been wanting to run/play Coyote and Crow ever since it first launched on KickStarter but was apprehensive about making sure that I was able to represent and unfamiliar culture in a respectful way. After browsing the available GMs, I decided to contact Bri and gave her a brief summary of my anxieties and expectations. She delivered a wonderful story and provided us ample room to really make our characters our own. When establishing the world and our characters, she was incredibly kind in gently reminding us of things that seem strange or unfamiliar from a western perspective. The game itself was also really fun in how opportunities were presented for creative problem solving, strategies beyond just combat. I strongly encourage anyone looking for an inclusive table to consider Bri the Bold as she is certainly worthy of the name.
I had an absolute blast with Bri as a GM. We played Coyote and Crow, which was a new system for her. She brought us into the world, and guided us through a successful one shot. The arc of our little narrative was so much fun, and it time literally sped by! Really appreciated the breaks interspersed, and how they tried to make the NPCs all sound different. 10/10 would play again with her!
