About György

I got into roleplaying by chance about 30 years ago. One of my friends insisted on teaching it to me, and I promised him in spite of not liking the idea. One day, we were at the beach with a group of friends, and he suddenly pulled the AD&D 2e PHB out of his bag and said 'Ok, let's play'. I was actually angry with him for embarassing me in front others, but I got lost in the game within minutes. Since then, I've tried a huge amount of games, I have a frightening amount of purchased pdf's on my hard drive, and here I am, preparing to be a professional GM.

Featured Prompts

I became a GM because

I love the creative part of it, I love the connection to others with creativity, and I love the shared catharsis when we look at the story we created.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be

PbtA - the custom-tailored moves are brilliant Fate Condensed - flexible, simple, creative Savage Worlds - simple, easy, flexible

How György runs games

I have several GM styles, as I can enjoy different gaming styles. - character-based personal story, built on the PC(s), in sandbox mode - plot-based adventure game, where some of the elements (evil plans, group status, etc.) get their own mechanical mini-game - community-based survival / crafting / resource management story I don't think either is better or worse than any other. Sometimes I look for one, sometimes for another. And, as long as everybody knows what to expect, all are equally valid.

Featured Prompts

My games focus on...

Exciting / hard choices, discovering new places and people, character development, PC impact on the game world.

Rules are...

guidelines, exist to help, not to tyrannize.

György's ideal table

My table is communicative. Let's talk about it, discuss it, and find a solution together. I'm not psychic, so tell me what's on your mind. I usually like the story tense, but the players feeling good and safe. I like humor, in the OOC channel. Stress relief is important during and after a scary scene. I'm helpful and like the company of other helpful people. We are a team, not opponents or enemies.
