About Aksel
Hail, and well met! My name would be Aksel. Akselsior to the whimsical. I've been running anything I can get my hands on since 2018, giving me experience in dozens of different game systems and the resources for dozens more. From D&D to Warhammer and all the way through the World of Darkness, I've had the pleasure of running games of almost every genre and theme. Typically I prefer to have my games focus on the story of the characters and the group as a whole, with a mostly sandbox style world to run through. I do my best to create fun and interesting characters/worlds for players to interact with while trying to avoid forcing specific results. I'd love to share my growing well of gaming knowledge with all of you!

I became a GM because
I enjoy telling and building a story alongside a group of players. I have a lot of fun playing through various plotlines with all types of characters and seeing how everyone handles the situations they find themselves in.
I got started GMing...
In 10th grade with my friends around their dining room table. We started with 1e Pathfinder, and my love for TTRPGs only grew from there.
My favorite system of all Time is
Warhammer Fantasy 2nd Edition. The variety of books released for that version of the game in particular allows for a wide variety of games to be played and stories to be told.
How Aksel runs games
• Welcoming and safe for all players! The only exception being people who do *not* accept LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and/or disabled players. • Willing to help those new to whatever system is being played. • Fun comes first. • Player agency and choices come in at a close second. • Challenging yet fair encounters with multiple solutions. • Purpose-built 3D maps in Tale Spire for visuals and combat. • Fleshed out settings and characters. Your group won't be the only one participating in the world.

My games focus on...
Games that I run focus on player choice and enjoyment. I don't want to run a session that isn't fun or that's fully on-rails. Characters and their players having agency and their choices mattering is very important to me.
Rules are...
Rules are important, but of course they are flexible. If something doesn't quite make sense to you or me, I am always open to discussing potential changes with the group.
Aksel's ideal table
I try to run a relaxed and fun game table. I try to keep things organized, but don't mind a few distractions here and there so long as it doesn't take away from the experience of playing the game. Jokes and some side talk isn't unwelcome at my table so long as it doesn't interrupt something going on or other players actions. I prefer being able to talk through anything that might come up as an issue with people, especially if there is something I can do better as a DM.
Featured Prompts
I love it when a player
I love when a player gets invested in their character and the world as a whole. Once questions start being asked about the setting and people start tying their characters to it, I know they're going to put in the effort I like to see at my tables.
My perfect party mix is
A perfect party mix is a group of communicative and open-minded people looking to have fun playing a game together. Being able to cooperate and talk through anything, including potential issues that come up in a campaign is a key part of the tabletop experience in my eyes.
