Shall we play a game? My very first character, a fighter, entered my older brother’s dungeon, killed a lizardman guard, and then died by lightning bolt ricochet. I could not wait to roll up another character! That was over 40 years ago and I have not looked back. I have been hooked on table-top role-playing games ever since. I have experience running D&D, Savage Worlds (especially Deadlands), The Burning Wheel, Torchbearer, Mouse Guard, Dungeon World, and FATE. I have played many others. I love running games and creating stories with other players. I am the primary GM for in-person and online gaming groups. I have GMed, and played in, a group that has met regularly for over 30 years. I have experience across a variety of game systems. I have run multiple one-shots at gaming conventions like Gen Con and Origins, as well for an actual play podcast. My goal is to entertain. I follow the “Rule of Cool” and I say, "yes" whenever possible. I have a background in theatre and improv, and I endeavor to create non-player characters that you will trust and love (or fear and despise). I run an inclusive table; everyone is welcome. I believe all players at the table have a responsibility to their fellow gamers. I encourage player agency and risk-taking. The best story and game choices are rarely the “smart” ones! The player characters are the protagonists of their stories: they have the opportunity to take chances and win the day or fail forward and advance their story by facing new challenges created by their choices. I keep a log on each game and try to create a living world that is affected by and responds to the characters’ actions. I mostly use published adventures, but I reward backstories, and I incorporate them to create character-specific encounters and games.
