About Christopher

Firstly, I am a storyteller. I have a Bachelor's in Creative Writing, I have been involved in theatre in Memphis for over 25 years, and I have been a GM for over 10 years. I have written shows that have been produced here, but I'm not published yet. I won a grant for a short film I wrote that was never produced. It turns out filmmaking requires more puzzle pieces than writing does. I want the players to feel like they are part of the world, not just existing in it.

I became a GM because

Initially, it was because none of my other friends would. I grew to love it, though. I enjoyed giving my friends somewhere they could go on an adventure and forget the world for a while. And it's a great chance to practice my writing.

Writing plays or performing in them. The art of storytelling has been around as long as people have, and I greatly enjoy taking part in it. I'm also a big horror fan. I find it so fascinating. What scares us is constantly changing. And I love to cook and bake.

How Christopher runs games

I think a healthy balance of combat and roleplaying tends to appease everyone. I like to weave the characters' backstories into the world and see the looks on their faces as they realize pieces are falling into place. I like to create worlds that have that hint of the bizarre. Not bizarre that's always in your face, but the bizarre that knows it's strength lies in staying hidden so it can be found by the unsuspecting.

There for a reason, but they aren't the final word. I feel it's important to adhere to them because you don't want a broken game where you can get away with anything because you can think of a loophole. That being said, if you think of a really cool and fun loophole, I just might let it slide.

When it comes to voices

I can do some. I've been a stage actor for over 25 years. Granted, I haven't played a dragon on stage, but I've learned to do some accents and talk real funny-like.
