About the adventure

This Cinematic scenario is a prequel to the movie Aliens, and stars you, as a maintenance team fortunate--if that's the right word--to get out of the Hadley's Hope Colony for a few hours. Bad luck the vehicle broke down & you had to hike back, but things are about to get so much worse... This scenario for three to five players is built as a horror scenario, with few--if any--survivors. It's definitely a 'mature audiences' game, and is designed to show off the Alien RPG system.

How to prepare

Players will need a webcam and microphone, a Roll20 account (free basic account is fine!), and access to Discord or Zoom. Reading the rules ahead of time is helpful but not necessary, as is maybe watching the movies to get in the mood.

What I provide

In Roll20 the players will find everything they need to play, from a character sheet to automatic die rolling. I'll have atmospheric sound, special effects, maps, and more for the players to enjoy.

Gameplay details

We'll spend some time at the beginning of the game going over Lines, Veils, and general expectations to tailor things to you& your group, but on the whole, this game is definitely rated R or higher for violence, language, and spoopiness. There will be safety tools in-game for players to use, and frequent check-ins to make sure everyone's having a good time.

How will character creation work

There are pre-generated characters to choose from, tailored to the scenario. I'm open to discussing modifications to them but would like to hew to the scenario fairly closely for everyone's enjoyment.

Players can expect

  • Roleplay: Medium
