About the adventure

Thunder crashes, waves lash the hull, and saltwater sprays in your face as the Lucky Gull rocks violently. The sky cracks open with lightning. You grip the railing as the sea becomes a pitiless monster, dragging all hope into its maw. Then, Silence. Your eyelids flutter open to a cruel, intense sun. The sea is gone. The ship—your home, your anchor—is shattered, buried in golden dunes. Its rotted wood juts up at odd angles, and everywhere, the sand burns to the touch. No ocean, No water as far as the eye can see. You've become sailors without sail or sea. You and the others aboard your vessel gather what remains: a broken compass, half your food rations, water that barely fills a flask, a few coils of rope — and a few new scars from the impact. You must carry on. Night will come soon, and the desert can be unforgiving as it plays with the mind.

About me

My love for tabletop roleplaying began as a way to spend meaningful time with my family. What started as a family hobby quickly became a passion for writing adventures, portraying memorable characters, and helping players build confidence and a sense of belonging through shared storytelling experiences. Today, I run reliable, character-driven Dungeons & Dragons campaigns for new, returning, and experienced players. At my table, you can expect: - Meaningful choices that shape the story - Immersive roleplay and memorable NPCs - Creative problem-solving - Story-focused combat - Every character matters - Clear communication and dependable scheduling - Patient support for new and returning players As an educator, voice actor, and game designer, I make D&D approachable without removing its depth or challenge. You do not need years of experience to belong at my table! I only expect you to bring a willingness to participate, collaborate, and help create a great story with us. New and returning players receive: - Help understanding their character sheet - Guidance turning ideas into game mechanics - Patient explanations during play - Encouragement to make their own decisions - Support building confidence from session to session Your choices matter. Your character belongs in the story. Let’s discover what happens next. Still Gaming periodically sponsors community seats for foster families, first responders, military families, and households seeking a shared storytelling experience. Sponsored opportunities are limited and announced separately from regularly scheduled professional campaigns. (Discord)

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be homebrew during the free session zero. The GM will work with players to create a character suitable for the unique setting. Players should pull inspiration from fantasy sources and work with the GM to create a backstory, skills and flaws appropriate for a level 1 character in a desert setting. D&D Beyond options available.

What Still brings to the table

This homebrew adventure is closest in ruleset to 5e. It borrows elements from this system in regard to combat. Skill checks will be present based on strengths and weaknesses of character development. Rules will heavily be influenced by rule of cool.

Homebrew rules

Homebrew rules will be given out during session 0 as well as posted on the discord server for reference. A full list of Homebrew rules will be given to players at session 0. My philosophy about the homebrew process in short would be that I am less interested in getting every rule correct as I am with maintaining the immersion of the game in progress. If rule disputes occur GM will make final say.

Safety

How Still creates a safe table

A full list of all safety policies will be presented to the players at session 0 as well as a permanent list available on the Discord. Safety rules are taken very seriously. Violations of these rules can result in a "zero-tolerance" policy and actionable to the extent of removal from group and a permanent ban from StillGaming sessions. I am thankful to say that this policy has always been respected and never used at our table.
