About the adventure

Schedule note: The correct game time is Thursdays, 5–8 PM Arizona / 4–7 PM Pacific / 7–10 PM Eastern. The 11 PM UTC time shown elsewhere is outdated. In Noema, psionics is not a strange exception to the world. It helped build it. Psychic academies train gifted minds, healers work directly with memory and emotion, rival philosophies argue over what makes a person truly themselves, and dream-cartographers chart realms that may be older than civilization. Now something new is happening: impossible psychic gifts are beginning to appear, powers that even the great traditions cannot explain. They promise extraordinary things. Every miracle has a price no one has paid yet. The Sky Remembers Tomorrow is a long-form D&D 3.5 psionic fantasy mystery, beginning at 3rd level and drawing heavily on the strange, imaginative psionics of Bruce R. Cordell, especially Hyperconscious, alongside the Expanded Psionics Handbook. Expect living dream-realms, competing psychic traditions, secret societies, ancient mysteries, tactical encounters, and discoveries that gradually change what the characters think they understand about their world. The campaign begins with wonder and intellectual curiosity, then grows stranger and more unsettling as apparently separate mysteries begin to connect. Mechanically, this is unapologetically 3.5: 32-point buy, power points, feats, specialized builds, and a large selection of psionic prestige classes. Psionic and non-psionic characters are both welcome. But you do not need to arrive knowing all of that. I’m happy to build your character with you, or build the mechanical side for you from the concept you describe. If you play a psionic character, you only need to learn the powers and abilities your own character actually has, not an entire library of 3.5 options. Experienced system-builders are equally welcome to dig into the machinery. Session Zero is free, and we’ll use it to finalize characters, establish party connections and boundaries, and introduce the parts of Noema your characters would already know. This game is for players who enjoy distinctive characters, mysteries worth investigating, consequential choices, strange ideas, and discovering a setting through play rather than receiving an encyclopedia up front. Psionics is the supernatural heart of the world rather than an add-on, and the setting is designed so that character abilities, philosophy, culture, and the campaign’s mysteries all belong to the same strange machine.

About me

I got into roleplaying games for the thrill of real stakes: a character I cared about could actually die, and something about that possibility made everything else matter more. From there I learned, through years of playing and running, how to fully inhabit a character rather than just pilot one. I run games to build worlds that feel lived-in, whether I’m running for one player or a whole table: NPCs with their own agendas, events that keep moving whether or not the characters are looking at them, and consequences that actually stick. I lean roleplay-forward and character-driven, with a particular love for horror, mystery, danger, difficult choices, and stories where relationships, loyalties, regrets, and ambitions carry as much weight as any dice roll. I run a rules-solid game, but I use the rules in service of the fiction rather than stopping the fiction to admire the rules. If you want a game where your character’s choices and attachments genuinely shape what happens next, come find me.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters begin at 3rd level using 32-point buy. We’ll create characters before the first full session, either together during Session Zero or one-on-one over Discord if you prefer. Characters will be maintained on Roll20. The Expanded Psionics Handbook is the mechanical foundation of the campaign, with Bruce R. Cordell’s Hyperconscious providing many additional powers, feats, prestige classes, and setting influences. I’m open to material from other official D&D 3.5 sources, including unusual classes and character concepts, but please run it by me before building around it so we can make sure it fits the campaign and the party. You do not need to be a D&D 3.5 character-building expert. Bring me a character concept and I’m happy to build the mechanical side with you, or even assemble the character for you and explain how it works. Psionic and non-psionic characters are both welcome. If you do play a psionic character, you only need to learn the powers and abilities your character actually possesses, not the hundreds of options available across the system. Players who enjoy 3.5 optimization and character-building are equally welcome to dig into the rules and build their own. Character concepts should belong in a world where psionics is part of everyday civilization. We’ll work together to connect your character to Noema’s cultures, psychic traditions, institutions, and mysteries rather than requiring you to arrive already knowing the setting.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before the first session, please: - Create a free Discord account and join the campaign server. - Create a free Roll20 account and join the campaign game. - Have a working microphone and a reasonably quiet place to play. - Complete the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist and send it to me before Session Zero. - Come with either a character concept or a finished 3rd-level character. If you want help, I’m happy to build the mechanics with you or for you. - Be ready to learn only the rules your character actually uses. You do not need system mastery to play. No paid software or rulebook purchases are required to join.

What souldiver brings to the table

I provide vivid descriptions, memorable NPCs with their own motives, and frequent visual aids to help make locations, characters, creatures, and strange psychic phenomena feel concrete at the table. I like worlds that respond to what the characters do: NPCs pursue their own goals, factions remember choices, and mysteries unfold because players investigate them rather than because the plot waits for the correct cue. My games balance roleplaying, investigation, exploration, and tactical combat. When combat happens, I want positioning, abilities, and character builds to matter, especially in a system as mechanically rich as D&D 3.5, but combat exists to serve the story rather than replace it. I generally follow the rules as written, while making quick table rulings when necessary to keep play moving. I put a lot of emphasis on atmosphere, character interaction, and discovery. Expect evocative scenes, NPCs who can surprise you without acting arbitrarily, and a campaign where your decisions can change relationships, alliances, and the direction of the story. I will often provide custom or curated images for important NPCs, locations, and moments so the world has a strong visual identity as well as a written one.

Homebrew rules

This campaign uses standard D&D 3.5 rules, with selected material from Bruce R. Cordell’s Hyperconscious added to the available psionic options. Hyperconscious’s alternate mindscape combat system is not used as a default rule. A small number of prestige classes or abilities may receive minor balance adjustments where needed. Any such changes will be discussed with the affected player before they commit to the option. Noema Bonus Feat: Every character gains one additional feat at 1st level representing life in a psionically saturated world. This feat must be chosen from an approved setting list and is intended to express background, culture, or latent psychic aptitude rather than accelerate entry into a prestige class.

Safety

How souldiver creates a safe table

Before play, I use the Monte Cook Games Consent in Gaming checklist to establish boundaries and Lines & Veils, which we’ll review together during Session Zero. During play, anyone can call for a pause, skip, or fade-to-black at any time, or message me privately. No explanation is required.
