I got into roleplaying games because of the thrill of simulated danger to an alternate persona. In other words, a character I was attached to could die. How brilliant! From there, I learned from other players and game masters how to fully inhabit that character. World-building was a trial and error process, with much flattery by imitation. I run games to create a shared imaginary space that comes alive through our collective storytelling.
