About the adventure

This game would be for anyone interested into building from the beginning. If you like the idea of brainstorming new characters, new world building notes, new enemies to vanwuish, this will be the game for you! I'm starting my own homebrew world and I will be excited to see any and all players leave this mark in this latest TTRPG adventure! New Players are welcome! This meant to be fun, so please no one feel intimidated with what we try! Session 0 will be crucial in deciding direction and tone of the campaign, and I have a handful of sourcebooks to draw material from to inspire this new world. Sky's the limit! All sorts of reference media exists and inspiration comes from anywhere! ZERO PLANS to use any sort of AI, this will be a home-brewed campaign and there's no reason to use it in the first place. Looking for the excited people who may have dreamt of doing a full scale campaign, looking for the newbies who have never rolled the dice and are itching to! The mindset is that we come together to have fun, not step on each other's toes as we learn the lay of the land, and HAVE FUN!

About me

I've run different games between friends and family members. I've enjoyed exploring the possibilities of playing D&D along with other TTRPG's like Daggerheart, brainstorming on how to blend together the best of all systems. Recently, I've been on the learning curve for GM-ing and I've been excited to implement what I've learned from other GM's. I continue to learn new techniques as there are so many styles of play. I enjoy collaborating to create narratively driven worlds and tactical RPG combat.

Creating your character

Character Creation will be done as a group! We'll decide if stats will either be Point Buy or Standard. Starting level I imagine would be level 1

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should bring ideas they want to try, ideas they'd want to bring to a table, and a willingness to try things out. They should have discord accounts for communication and to join a server. For programs, we'll utilize D&D Beyond & D&D Beyond Maps for now, though we may change that depending on what we wanna try.

What Josh the GM brings to the table

I will provide the sourcebooks I have through D&D Beyond and upon request, we can discuss other sourcebooks I don't have yet. If there's not a sourcebook containing something we want, I can also just home-brew it! I also have multiple sources obtained from kickstarters and too much time finding 3rd party styled created content with plenty of cool stuff! I will be applying character voices and tactical combat, Rule of Cool for what makes sense and Rules as Written when it's not clear, both rules from 2024 and other rules from other systems if we want to apply them.

Homebrew rules

Any Homebrew rules utilized will be discussed amongst the group before utilizing them.

Safety

How Josh the GM creates a safe table

All games I run are open play. If someone's uncomfortable, I do like to utilize the X, N, & O's digitally. I offer a Content Consent checklist others can fill out so I know ahead of time, and I prefer to go over things post sessions to see what others. I prefer to go over everything in session 0 naturally, but I'm okay to pivot when we need to.
