About the adventure
It has been a decade since the Treaty of Thronehold was signed, and though there is now tenuous peace, the wounds of The Last War are still unhealed across the continent of Khorvaire. A century of conflict has left mistrust, uncertainty, destruction, displacement, fear and famine in its wake. Amongst this decimation, it is not difficult to see that some were able to escape the horrors of war far more unscathed than their peers. Resource rich nations and individuals have taken every opportunity to grow their wealth and improve their own positions, and establish themselves as wilfully ignorant to the needs of those less fortunate - until now, that is. In the nation of Breland, mysterious new notices have started appearing on the noticeboards of towns and cities across the land offering significant bounties to anybody willing to 'address the imbalance', without any further detail. Whether it's the allure of the mystery or the chance to make right the wrongs you have lived through (or both), you answer the call. Doing so will test your instincts, relationships, morality and fortitude. Can you do whatever it takes, whenever it's needed? Join your DM Loz to find out as this story unfolds around you.

About me
Hi! I'm Loz, your friendly neighbourhood dice goblin and DM. I love TTRPGs, storytelling and playing and DMing alongside folks at all experience levels. I'm based in Australia and am excited to help gamers down under navigate the world of D&D. Whether you're looking for someone to DM a full, long-running campaign or a one-shot to get a taste of the game or a special event, I'm your person. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I also understand the importance of representation and safety in a space like a D&D game. I am committed to being a DM who puts those things front and center in their campaigns.

Creating your character
We will complete character creation in three parts: 1. During an initial chat with me when you first join the campaign. This will happen before session 0, and we can use the time to talk through any initial ideas that you have for your character and the way you want to build them. 2. During session 0, where each member of the party will bring their character in progress, and as we discuss the type of campaign and type of party we want to run, we can finalise your builds in synergy with the rest of the party. 3. Via discord between session 0 and session 1 if there are any loose ends or open questions that we need to tie up. Other notes on character creation: - We will use Point Buy as our system to develop initial stats. - You can build your character in D&D Beyond, as this is the platform we will use to run the game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will run our adventure using the following: - Discord (there will be a campaign-specific server that I will invite you to that we will use for voice and video, as well as any chats in between sessions). - D&D Beyond (character creation and gameplay will occur in this platform, once you have joined the campaign here on Start Playing Games I will also invite you to the campaign on D&D Beyond).
What Loz - Tutors And Tabletops brings to the table
If you trust me to tell this story alongside you, I will repay that trust by creating a vivid, engaging world, and telling that story with energy and enthusiasm every table session. I create fun NPCs to interact with, face-paced action to make everyone feel like a hero, and compelling plots to keep you coming back because you simply have to help me tell the story of what happens next. I also run a safe, judgement- and discrimination-free table, both in terms of role playing and what happens above the table between all of us. TTRPGs are for everyone, unless you are an intolerant or bullying piece of shit. If that's the case, you can miss this one, and if you turn out to be one as we adventure together I will yeet you without hesitation.
Homebrew rules
I love house rules and material that comes from outside the official offerings from WotC - anything that will let us as a group play the game we want to play is welcome. For example, for this campaign parts of what I will bring to the table come directly from Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms. I will always be open to discussions about bringing these to our table, I have only two simple requirements for implementing them: - They are compatible with our game system (in this case, D&D 5e) - The table as a group agrees on the rule

Safety
How Loz - Tutors And Tabletops creates a safe table
Player safety is incredibly important to me. If my players aren't comfortable and having a good time, there's no way that our time together will be as fun and exciting as it could be - really losing yourself in the role play and focusing on the game can't happen until everyone feels safe. To that end, I utilise several tools during both the formation of our campaign and party, and ongoing throughout our time together: - During our initial conversation about character creation, we can also discuss any content/themes/situations that you want us to leave out of the campaign. - During session 0, I also cover player safety, players are able to voice anything during this session if they feel comfortable too. - We will also utilise a Lines and Veils survey that I will send individually to each player before the first session.
