About the adventure

War for the Crown is an adventure path written and published by Paizo, meant to explore themes of political intrigue and social combat with a focus on narrative and character interaction while still boasting challenging combat encounters. Players are encouraged to create a character that is as capable on the battlefield as they are in the noble courts. Parlay with the noble senators of Taldor and sway the future of its governance, will you side with the princess Eutropia in her battle against male-only primogeniture?

About me

Hello! My name is Emily (they/them or she/her), I am a long-time TTRPG player and have been playing and running Pathfinder first edition games since 2012. I have a passion for creative writing and collaborative story telling, and love to share the tabletop experience with new friends and strangers alike. In my local scene, I help orchestrate Pathfinder Society organized play, with my local game store still running occasional first edition games. If I were to assign myself a player archetype, I would be somewhere between the Storyteller and the Power Gamer. I like my characters to have a niche, but highly effective build, or simply be incredibly good at what it is they do. I am naturally inclined towards Pathfinder 1e as opposed to DnD and its counterparts because it allows me and my players to do exactly that, identify your character's niche, and excel in it.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will start at level 1, and should be prepared prior to session 0 so we can discuss backstory and party composition. Characters can be made with 25 point buy, a bonus feat at level 1, and Elephant in the Room. There are no bans on class at this time, but players should consider the narrative implications of their class and any multi-classes. Why is a Ninja from Tien in Taldor at this time? How did I become a Wizard? Etc. Please restrict your chosen race/ancestry to core races unless given express permission by the GM.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Games will be hosted on Roll20 and a Discord server, please have an account for both.

What Emily brings to the table

I endeavor to bring my players meaningful roleplay with characters that feel like the possess agency and motivation, challenging combat encounters, and the ability to shape the grander narrative of the campaign with their decisions as a party.

Homebrew rules

We use Elephant in the Room lite and a version of the 3 action economy system described in Pathfinder Unchained.
