About Emily
Hello! My name is Emily (they/them or she/her), I am a long-time TTRPG player and have been playing and running Pathfinder first edition games since 2012. I have a passion for creative writing and collaborative story telling, and love to share the tabletop experience with new friends and strangers alike. In my local scene, I help orchestrate Pathfinder Society organized play, with my local game store still running occasional first edition games. If I were to assign myself a player archetype, I would be somewhere between the Storyteller and the Power Gamer. I like my characters to have a niche, but highly effective build, or simply be incredibly good at what it is they do. I am naturally inclined towards Pathfinder 1e as opposed to DnD and its counterparts because it allows me and my players to do exactly that, identify your character's niche, and excel in it.

I became a GM because
I had a passion for writing, worldbuilding, and I wanted to play more, be it at the head of the table or as a player.
I got started GMing...
When I was 14 years old for my high school theatre department.
My favorite system of all Time is
Pathfinder first edition, it was my first tabletop game and I've sworn by it for years.
How Emily runs games
I enjoy a mixture of roleplay and high-stakes combat. I've never been fond of dungeon crawls or combat-only sessions, and feel games exist better with a balance of narrative and game mechanics.

I once ran a session...
in the style of Clue, with blind envelope pre-generated characters and secret goals for each player.
Rules are...
mechanical backing to help tell a story.
When it comes to voices
it's one of maybe 4 or 5 that I know how to do. But you can at least always tell when it's a goblin talking.
Emily's ideal table
Players who enjoy writing a backstory and seeing it involved in the campaign, players who like a balance of roleplay and combat, players who want to work together to create unique homebrew specific to their character when RAW falls short.

I love it when a player
Asks me to stretch the rules a little bit to fit the flavor of the character they want to create.
I think min/maxing...
might leave you frustrated when you end up sitting outside of your niche. A hammer is great at hitting nails, but when I ask you to knit a sweater, you might wish you brought more options.
My perfect party mix is
filled with variety, any and all classes welcome, within reason. If you can work and play along with your fellow players, you're playing the right character.
