About the adventure

The year is 5136, and Earth has become a desolate wasteland. Terraforming and colonization have transformed Mars into the heart of the galaxy. Megacorporations, operating like clans, dominate the galaxy, and faster-than-light travel is a thing of the past. As a Lancer, you and your Lance mates represent the peak of power in the galaxy, piloting machines capable of leveling entire cities and defense forces. But you're not alone in your pursuit—there are thousands of human-inhabited star systems scattered across. you will be playing a squad of Fresh academy graduates aboard the Union carrier Rio Grand to support its mission of peaceful 3rd contact and potential vacuolization of a long-lost colony world of Cressidium only rediscovered a few years prior. The deck rumbles beneath your feet as your shuttle breaches the thick atmosphere of Hercynia. Through the condensation-streaked porthole, a smear of emerald forest appears, scarred by ragged patches of dark earth and persistent grey rainstorms. You are responding to a distress call from the young colonial settlement of Evergreen. It seems like a routine peacekeeping drop for a team of elite mech pilots, but this quiet frontier world holds deep, forgotten shadows. Galactic Union, each filled with others chasing their own shot at freedom. - You were in cryosleep aboard the "Mescalia" after desperately deciding to respond to a distress call from a colony called "Evergreen." The client is "Landmark," a subsidiary of a large corporation. - Your destination is Hercynia, a consistently Earth-like, very green planet that belongs more to the core than the outer reaches. - You and your fellow players don't really know each other yet and are more of a makeshift group of young mercenaries. The last point is often open to discussion. On the first game day, we'll have an introductory round, I'll explain the basic rules, and we'll create the characters and their mech’s together. Then we'll jump right in and try to get everything up and running. This campaign is designed to help people new to Lancer (like myself) learn how to play it, figuring out how the rules, weapons, mechs, and other things in Lancer work. This game is absolutely aimed for new players to help them learn how to play and learn of the amazing universe of Lancer!

About me

I am 48 years old and have been playing RPGs for 40 years. I like most genres and have played many games of various editions. Most of my recent experience has been in D&D 5.5, pathfinder 2e, alien, fallout 2d20, and starfinder 2e, but, I am willing to run any system or genre. I am mostly available during the afternoons (GMT-6 zone) on week days and all days on the weekend. I prefer to run mostly core rules so that I can know what the rules are without going through 20 books. I prefer to run with experienced players but would not mind lending a hand to a beginning players. I usually ended up as forever DM; I enjoy this and want to expand my gaming experiences to other games. I enjoy dungeons and dragons, shadowdark, Pathfinder, starfinder, cyberpunk, savage worlds, Gurps, star wars, aliens, fallout 2d20, and call of Cthulhu. I have DM'd and enjoyed running these. I have been Game Mastering for tabletop roleplaying groups for the past 40 years, running many campaigns. I'm easygoing and relaxed when it comes to my style of Game Mastering, and I prefer to run things Rules as Written for fairness for all players. I'll give all players a fair deal and equal treatment. I may be relatively new to this rule set, but with tens of thousands of hours of experience in running games, you will get a handcrafted tale of your very own in the setting. My experience will help create a better game for you. Style of the Campaign and My Game Mastering.

What Draco brings to the table

I have been Game Mastering for tabletop roleplaying groups for the past 40 years, running Dungeons and Dragons, pathfinder, starfinder, and Star Wars campaigns. I'm easygoing and relaxed when it comes to my style of Game Mastering, and I prefer to run things Rules as Written for fairness for all players. I'll give all players a fair deal and equal treatment. I may be relatively new to this rule set, but with tens of thousands of hours of experience in running games. You will get a handcrafted tale of your very own in the setting. My experience will help create a better game for you. Style of the Campaign and My Game Mastering The rule set does wonders for roleplaying and combat. This campaign takes full advantage of that and the survival elements, to provide an open world in which to make your fortune. Thanks to the vast fallout adventures, there is no shortage of adventures and quests awaiting you in the radioactive sprawl. I hope to craft stories personally to your characters, based on decisions you make. I have over 40 years’ experience in Game Mastering, and plenty of experience improvising fresh changes to the plot and future developments in the campaign. There’ are plenty of threats overhanging the setting, and I won’t be killing your characters, but I also won’t pull a deus ex machina to save your character if you make very poor decisions. It is possible that you will stumble into encounters or situations in which you are woefully outgunned or outmatched by your opponents. Fleeing is a reasonable option that shouldn’t be discounted. As a Game Master, I usually am more about roleplaying than straight combat, so diplomacy should always be considered too. The factions and people present in the setting have objectives of their own, perhaps several, and monsters will behave realistically as well, without just attacking until everyone is dead, unless that’s what they are specifically attempting to do. Enemies should behave realistically and act as though they only have one life to live (unless they have more). Enemies and NPC should make the world feel as real as possible to the players. Player Expectations • My number one rule for all players in my game is: Don't be a jerk. Treat everyone with respect and as you would wish to be treated. I have a zero-tolerance policy for out of character or out of game abuse or mistreatment of other players. No one should ever have to feel as though they're under attack when they just want to have fun. • If there is a problem with the game, myself, or another player, bring it to me privately after or between sessions so that I can address whatever the issue may be quickly and efficiently. This includes any matters of debate you may have over my interpretation of the rules or rulings I may have made. We don't want to bog down in rules-lawyering during game time.
