About the adventure

It is Sehen 24, 1827 in the halfling country of Raime that has been occupied by Soliel elves for centuries. Though the revolution had been going strong since its start in 1824, Soliel forces managed to take, not one, but all three of the Raime Revolutionary Army (RRA) leaders into custody on Nova Godina (New Year's Day 1827) in a sweep the citizens have begun to refer to as the "Dark Nova Betrayal"--as the attack could only have been organized with the help of someone from inside the RRA. Not trusting even their own members, a small sect of the RRA has decided to hire outside mercenaries to infiltrate the impenetrable An Dúnfort island prison in the capitol city of Croí, where the three leaders (Grady Gallagher, Brianna Berkshire, and Connor Compton) continue to be questioned as they await trial. As a team of outsiders you will be handsomely rewarded for the retrieval of each member, and given a bonus on any information you can uncover that might reveal who amongst the remaining RRA is responsible for the the Dark Nova Betrayal.

About me

I am a professional VO actor who got into ttrpgs in 2020 and has been GMing since 2022. I have over 30 years of performance training, including UCB improv, so I am great at handling any curveballs players might throw. Other careers I’ve had including singing, writing, editing, and directing—all of which I try to incorporate into my sessions. I love the “rule of cool” and have GMed for tables as big as 9 and as small as 1. I prefer to run original homebrew plots or third-party adventures. I am only interested in inclusive tables actually interested in working together. My tables are open to players of all races, genders, and/or sexual orientations.

Character creation

Creating your character

I will run a free session 0 to discuss content warnings & lines and veils. In session 0, we will do character building through a D&D Beyond campaign link with audio/video over Discord. I will also use Beyond Maps for any combat.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

If you do not have a discord account, please set one up. I send out a Discord server to join. If you don't have an account on D&D Beyond, please create one. Both of these should be free to start out.

What Samantha brings to the table

As a professional voice over actor with UCB training, I do excellent character voices and am very good with improvising with the chaos the players come up with. I embrace Rule of Cool, and strongly encourage role play at the table. As a writer, this story is designed for you to build your characters at level 10, but once inside the prison you will need to disable the power dampeners (as this is what will put you back at level 1). Each dampener you disable, each level your character mechancially gets back (which is what will take you from level 1 to level 10 over the course of the campaign). This is a dungeon crawl with homebrew world political intrigue and puzzles to solve along the way.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion counts as a bonus action & Godly Intervention. In this homebrew world, even non-casters are considered "blessed" by one of the nine Pantheon of Gods. As such, there will be times when a player might be asked to roll a d100 to see if the god who has blessed them might intervene on their behalf (even if your character is an atheist, just because you don't believe in the gods doesn't mean they don't believe in you). I will go over the world building more in-depth in session 0.
