About the adventure
You enrolled in Strixhaven University, and are a student but that doesnt stop you from adventuring. You will go from 1st year students to 4th year students during this campaign. Remember, The greatest adventure doesnt have to be in the Dragons Lair, or the Vampires Castle. Sometimes it happens to be the secrets that hide in the most prestigious Magic University known to man. In this campaign you attend classes and roleplay your heart desire but you come across bits to secrets of the founding of the university that the school has taken extra measures to make sure stay hidden. Students going missing, Professors being replaced, Strange people coming to visit. Something is going on and no one is paying any attention. . . No one but you. The Headmaster of the school is plotting something that would take magic away from everyone, it ends up being you who stumble upon this secret that have to stop him and save the school. Come join and have fun in this suspensful mystery of a magical school but most of all a light hearted roleplay heavy campaign to just enjoy yourself. Arcana Unleashed is coming out and The play along and the book will be utilized in this campaign with living spells and even the play test material if you want.

About me
Hey, I’m McClain, Disabled Army Veteran. I am a huge nerd and love to research lore. I wear a tin hat just for fun because lets face it, we all have little crazy in us. I am in my 30s and have been playing TTRPGS for several years. I started out with Warhammer 40k TTRPG, specifically Rogue Trader. Then Dark Heresy. I moved to Dungeons and Dragons 5e while I was in the Army because 40k got too expensive under Citadel. I have GMd for almost 8 years now and I have ran games ranging from Dungeons and Dragons to the Science Fiction universe of 40K to the Anime world of Pokemon with Pokemon Tabletop Adventures. I do enjoy a good game regardless of the genre. I have the Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG and am looking to teach you how to play, I am also looking to run Starfinder 2e and Warhammer 40k as well once I figure out the best way to run them. Creating your character
Characters will be created during session 0 or after. Build Characters on the DnD Beyond Campaign Mechanical Guidelines All species, classes, and backgrounds are welcome. Homebrew is allowed with approval to ensure balance. Fixed HP. Stats are rolled: Roll 2 sets of 6. 4d6, reroll all 1s, drop the lowest die 20 is the maximum score Start with 1 common and 1 uncommon item Backstories Think about the story you want to tell. Your backstory can be detailed and layered or simple and open-ended. We can connect you to factions, locations, NPCs, and plot threads together. If you’re unsure of your “why,” we’ll discover it collaboratively. You bring the spark. I’ll help you weave it into the world.

Preparing for the session
I use Discord for sessions to talk and voice. Please have a discord account. this is free and has no cost to you. If you need any assistance, please reach out. I use DnD Beyond to create the characters and VTT so please have a free DnD Beyond account and you will gain access to all the content I share with you. No need for cameras, though they are encouraged. Please come to session 0 with 3 character ideas and build them then.
What McClain brings to the table
A fun and creative story and safe space. Safety is too priority of mine. I enjoy doing voices for my npcs but im no matt mercer. Im a rule of cool DM. I create immersive, living worlds. Expect detailed maps, distinct character voices, evocative visuals, ambient touches, and dynamic NPCs that make the city breathe around you. I want you to feel like you’ve stepped into the story. At my table, safety and belonging come first. I am fiercely protective of every member of my community, including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, femme-presenting, ESL, and disabled players. This is a space where respect is non-negotiable, boundaries are honored, and everyone deserves to feel safe being themselves.
Homebrew rules
House Rules will be discussed during session 0. Aside from potions being a bonus action, I will be asking you what you think you would want to use during this campaign. This is a roleplay heavy campaign and therefore does not need the normal house rules i typically have. We can vote on any as a group.

How McClain creates a safe table
Safety is huge so I start out with a session 0. Then I always have an open door I do a break between the midway of each session. I do lines and veils for each of my sessions and In each session I do x O and N cards.
