About the adventure

You died. Maybe it was noble. Maybe it was foolish. Maybe it wasn’t even your fault. But death was not the end. Beneath the pale, unnatural glow of the Crooked Moon, something stirred—and when you opened your eyes again, you were no longer quite the person you once were. Perhaps you returned as one of the strange peoples touched by the moon: fiery Ashborn, wooden Gnarlborn, cursed Curseborn, skeletal Relicborn, or one of the other uncanny folk now walking the world. Perhaps you remained unchanged, desperately clinging to the last fragments of your former life. Whatever you became, one thing is certain: your story has not finished being written. Choose from strange new peoples and subclasses, embrace the gifts—or curses—of your second chance, and prepare yourself for a journey where old folklore is far more dangerous than bedtime stories ever suggested. Your next stop is Wickermoor Village, a place where the boundary between the living and the dead has grown dangerously thin. Your passage is aboard the Ghostlight Express, a spectral train that rattles through the darkness between worlds. Outside the windows, the impossible waits: crooked forests, forgotten villages, ancient ruins, things that move where nothing should, and shadows that seem to know your name. In Druskenvald, fairy tales have teeth, bargains carry consequences, and the woods are never truly empty. This is a folk-horror campaign of twisted traditions, sinister folklore, eldritch mysteries, dark bargains, and second chances. You died once. Now you have been given another life—but something, somewhere, has already decided what that life is worth. Board the train. Enter Druskenvald. Discover what brought you back… and find out what the Crooked Moon wants from you.

About me

A lifelong devotee of Dungeons & Dragons since the early days of 1980, I’ve worn every hat the game offers—player, storyteller, worldbuilder, and Dungeon Master. My tables are built on a foundation of rules, but they’re elevated by the rule of cool: if it’s cinematic, clever, or just plain awesome, it deserves a place in the story.

What Mike brings to the table

My tables are built on a foundation of rules, but they’re elevated by the rule of cool: if it’s cinematic, clever, or just plain awesome, it deserves a place in the story. Whether guiding heroes through mythic quests or rolling dice as a player myself, I believe D&D is at its best when it’s dramatic, collaborative, and just a little bit unpredictable. After all, the game isn’t just about stats—it’s about stories that linger long after the final roll.

Critical Hits (the Perkins Crit system): You maximize the normal damage and roll for the critical damage.
