About the adventure

You have arrived in the rustic frontier town of Phandalin, nestled in the foothills of the Sword Mountains southeast of the great city of Neverwinter. There in the town square, you find a weathered wooden job board nailed to a post. As you choose a quest from among the handwritten notices you imagine the danger, treasure, and intrigue that await you as you begin your adventuring career! We will use the official published adventure "Dragon of Icespire Peak" as a setting for a one-shot adventure tailored to your needs. All levels of experience are welcome, from beginners learning the basics to pros test-driving a new subclass. With additional pre-coordination, we can create something pretty customized. Adventuring alone is dangerous business so some trusty sidekicks are always available and can be found hanging around the local tavern. Aside from supporting you in combat, they will reliably hold the other end of the rope, give you a boost over that wall, and generally do what they’re told. But all the decision-making is 100% yours. I’m more than happy to add other players once you’ve booked the game. Please just have one person sign up and then I can add the others.

About me

I started my D&D journey when the 2024 books came out and I haven't looked back. Life is a busy place but I always keep a few hours a week listed here on StartPlaying because helping new players always brightens my week! I prefer to practice this craft frequently. I dream of someday DMing a weekly game of dedicated, like-minded players.

Character creation

Creating your character

If you’re new, just FYI that you shouldn’t get overwhelmed by the details. I can help you make a character in 5 minutes or give you a walkthrough if you’d like. Requirements: - Build a character on DnDBeyond. - Lvl1-5 - 5.5e Core Rules only - On "Home" page of the character builder, set Character Privacy setting to “Campaign Only” or “Public”. - Don't forget to add starting equipment and equip weapons and armor.

The current party

This job is fully prepped and launching so please jump on in! You can disregard the cutoff time. If you book and complete the instructions correctly prior to game start, you will play. Mostly -MAKE A LEVEL 5 CHARACTER THAT IS 2024 5.5E CORE RULES ONLY COMPLIANT. -join discord server and answer 3 questions - join the DND beyond campaign. -That's it!! Players have chosen to play the "Woodland Manse" job at lvl5, so that is what you would now be joining. We have: Wizard Cleric

What to expect

Preparing for the session

1) Make a free Discord account if you don’t have one. You will use this to talk to me and the other players. 2) Make a free DnDBeyond account (you already have one because that’s where you made your character.) You’ll need it to join the campaign and use their Maps Virtual Tabletop (VTT), this is where we see shared maps and roll virtual dice together. 3) Read the rules. Even without the account you just made, the Basic Rules are still free! https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024

What Logan brings to the table

- Official D&D map content in the VTT - Imagery of places, monsters, or items in the VTT - Shared ambient music through a KenkuFM Discord bot - I’ll do NPC voices to the best of my ability - I will keep us on target and on schedule. - I will nudge you to clearly declare what your character is doing. (“I open the door”) - I will offer some gentle narrative guidance without taking away your agency. Do what you want, I might ask “do you really do that?", but no do-overs allowed.

Safety

How Logan creates a safe table

I'll ask for your lines and veils at the start of our session. Being a basic starter module, the themes are pretty mild.
