About Logan
I started my D&D journey when the 2024 books came out and I haven't looked back. Family and work keep me busy but I'm always sure to keep a few games listed because playing D&D is a highlight of my week.

I became a GM because
In person: because I wanted to play with my kids, and somebody's got to GM. On StartPlaying: because I wanted to play more myself. After spending some time as a player, I ultimately decided I should "Be the game I want to see". And now I'm hooked and it's all about refining the craft.
My favorite shows/movies are
Woof... Tough question. I'm just going to blurt out the first couple things I think of: Critical Role Dimension 20 Interstellar Family Guy Star Wars Family Guy Star Wars The Big Lebowski Royal Tenanbaums Treme
When I'm not running games I'm...
Probably coaching baseball, commuting, or reading about D&D on Reddit. Maybe watching audio production equipment reviews on YouTube. Gardening. Mowing. Chainsawing. Wrasslin' the dog.
How Logan runs games
I just want to play and want you to help you just play. I like to think my "style" is more like an "absence thereof". I'm here for you, not the other way around. So I just want to blend into the background of your game and provide the service you’ve paid for. I consider myself successful if I: - Hit my marks - Deliver the eatablished objectives - Manage the clock to get you to the finish line - Make you want more D&D! I'm not trying to reinvent D&D. Generations of talented storytellers have bestowed these venerated tomes upon us, and I honor their work by mastering the rules inscribed therein. Exploration yields plentiful treasure and discovery. Combat is hard and cool and perilous. Role play has a purpose. PC goals, ambitions, and backstory matter. All this is well-balanced and continuously tailored to a developing party. I’m gonna keep it movin’. Everyone's time is valuable and you want to find out what happens next, right? So if there’s dead air or the spotlight gets stuck in one place too long, I'll interject with some quick narration to fast forward and get us back on track… “Pleasant conversation carries late into the evening… As you part ways a few hours later, what do you agree to do the next morning?” I'm not huge on PC to PC romantic relationships.

I deal with rules issues by...
Keeping the game moving, not starting or allowing an argument, taking the high road, in clearing it up later in a post game message and Discord. I really don't want more than like 5 seconds of dead air talking about rules.
I once ran a session...
...that made me cry. Solo one-shot with a Goliath Bard that played a trumpet. At the end, we sat on a hilltop and he played a tune on a nat 20 performance plus buffs. My narration and his reaction to it left me overcome with emotion. It was a lovely moment.
I prep by
Studying your character sheet. Making sure it's fully 5.5 e 2024 compliant. Refreshing my memory about the module. Prepping the D&D Beyond Maps VTT board. Sound check!
Logan's ideal table
My ideal table agrees to a simple code of conduct: "I am here to play D&D and I value other players' experience as much as my own." Seems straightforward enough, right? If you think about it, that short phrase covers just about everything. And yes, I agree to that code too. My ideal table treasures laughter and tears just as much as high rolls. My ideal table is ready when it's their turn so we can keep flippin' back to the top of that initiative order! My ideal table is also: - 2024 rules only, baby! - Half women. Because a mix of voice registers and perspectives is just better. And because, you know... the real world is half women. - Dedicated to a best effort microphone solution. Audio is all we get folks, so lets respect one another by making ourselves sound as good as possible!

I love it when a player
Jumps first, asks questions later.
My perfect party mix is
Driven by whatever players actually find interesting to play, not what makes an "ideally optimized party".
My table is not the place for...
Wasting anyone's time. Cheating.
