About the adventure

⚠️ A quick note for new players: You are completely welcome here! I actually really enjoy teaching the game, so don't worry if you don't know how everything works yet. We'll figure it out as we go. The only real requirement is showing up ready to hang out and have a good time. 🏹 HUNT In this Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting campaign you will be facing off against a collection of exotic and dangerous creatures in deadly hunts. Gather clues about the monster as you track it across different locations then confront them in an epic boss battle! 🍖 HARVEST Carve up the remains of your fallen foe using a set of harvesting rules to collect strange materials unique to each creature. 🔨 CRAFT Return to your home base (The Wyrmhole Tavern) and work with the guild's resident artificer L'arson to harness the powers of your enemies! Create incredible new magic items with your spoils of war, including items that can level up along side you as a player Key Features: 🐉Free Session 0! 🐉Unique monsters hunt and equipment to craft 🐉Fun and vibrant characters to work with (or against) 🐉Real sense of progression 🐉Structured but still rules light vibe

About me

I was born a nerd and will proudly die a nerd but until then I will be GM-ing at least one D&D campaign! Based out of the UK I have always flirted with TTRPGs only actually picking them up about 10 years ago and I have not looked back. I even created (and am current branch manager of) Northampton branch of a charity roll and raise TTRPG club called RPhaven. Outside of that I am a professional wedding & events photographer with two pugs who will likely be heard snoring in the background of our sessions!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will go through character creation in our first session however you are welcome to prep a character in advance. We will be doing everything within DNDbeyond using their standard character builder. We'll be using all the extra player options from the book, which means you get access to a bunch of new races and subclasses. My personal favourite is the new Axolotl playable species...they are so squishy! I am happy with standard array or point buy for stat allocation and we can discuss pretty much any race/class but it helps if it is from a source I am familiar with (no super deep cuts please!)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Upon signing up to the game I will share with you a link to join the campaign discord sever and the DNDbeyond campaign. Those should be the only two accounts required. We will be using discord for voice and chat, DNDbeyond will be used for maps and character sheets.

What JoeGee brings to the table

The many NPCs you will be unique with their own motivations and character voices. I run relaxed, beginner friendly and ultimately fun games with an emphasis on player agency and indulging power fantasies. Both combat and roleplay are equally important in my sessions so that means both the raging barbarian and the charming bard will have something to do.

Homebrew rules

- Potions are always a bonus action - Death saves are made secretly - Adjusted Heliana's Crafting/Harvesting rules to simplify

Safety

How JoeGee creates a safe table

We try to keep things PG13 but it is important to have measures in place to keep everyone safe. In session 0 we will discuss any lines and veils (triggering topics/themes) that we feel comfortable sharing and encourage that anything more sensitive is shared with me privately. After each session we will have a debrief to ensure that we are all still on the same page and not crossing any lines. Players are also encouraged to call guilt free "time outs" if they need to step away for a moment.
