About the adventure
Welcome to the Dales! Long ago, ancient magics known as the Oldways protected the secluded, pastoral mountain valleys known as the Dales. Now, those protections are fraying. Wake of the Oldways is a rustic fantasy campaign where you play as unlikely heroes (humble farmers, curious shepherds, wandering peddlers, or village witches) driven to step beyond the safety of the firelight. You will explore vibrant meadows and shadowed forests, encounter whimsical and terrifying Creatures of Twilight, and uncover the forgotten history of a ruined kingdom before an encroaching darkness consumes your home. We will be playing through the complete Wake of the Oldways storyline, weaving together themes of wholesome nostalgia, pastoral peace, and creeping peril. Expect a healthy mix of cozy village roleplay, eerie wilderness exploration, and gritty, narrative-driven conflict where your choices matter. Because we are embarking on a long-term campaign, I want to make sure we build a fantastic, cohesive group. Before we officially start, I will be running a COMPLETELY FREE "VIBE CHECK" SESSION for all signed up participants! This zero-pressure intro session is a great way for us to meet, play together and see how well our playstyles mesh before officially committing to the long-term journey.

About me
Hey I'm Maia (my-ee-uh), a storyteller, actual play producer, and longtime lover of narrative-driven games. I found TTRPGS a few years ago and immediately fell in love with how collaborative, emotional, and unpredictable they can be. I've been GMing ever since-building immersive worlds, guiding personal arcs, and chasing those unforgettable table moments that happen when a group really clicks. In addition to private campaigns, I also create and publish actual plays, both live streamed and edited, on Twitch, YouTube, and podcast platforms. Producing those shows has sharpened my sense of pacing, tone, and scene work, and I bring that same care to every table I run, whether we're recording or just playing for fun privately.

Creating your character
We’ll create characters together during Session 0. The process is thorough and collaborative, starting with your concept, pick your starting themebooks, and weave connections with the other players so your characters feel like long-time friends. No prior rules knowledge is needed, and all materials will be provided.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We’ll be using FoundryVTT for maps/music/ambience, you will have separate digital character sheets. No downloads or accounts required. Once the group is confirmed, you’ll receive a link to a Discord server for further organization and communication.
What Maia (my-ee-uh) brings to the table
I run with a focus on story and character, using ambient music and vivid descriptions to bring scenes to life. Combat will happen when it fits the story, and I follow the rules as written while embracing creative ideas that make the game more fun. Expect heartfelt roleplay, whimsical moments, and challenges that test both your wits and your courage.
Homebrew rules
We will not be using the Might rules, and magic will be handled on a case-by-case basis. These adjustments are in place in order to keep gameplay streamlined and simple. I will also be running a free vibe check session for all who signed up, it's a great way to see how well we all play together before officially confirming and playing something long term.

How Maia (my-ee-uh) creates a safe table
Before play begins, all players will receive a Lines and Veils consent form to set boundaries. We’ll review this together in Session 0, and I’ll check in regularly during the game. I also use Stars and Wishes at the end of sessions to gather feedback and make sure the table stays safe, comfortable, and fun for everyone.
