About the adventure
Step into the Mists... and Discover a Land Where Hope Has Withered. Barovia is a land forgotten by the sun, trapped in the grasp of supernatural mists and ruled by an ancient evil—Count Strahd von Zarovich. Once a proud noble, Strahd made a pact that granted him immortality at the cost of his soul. Now, he reigns from Castle Ravenloft, a looming fortress of shadows, watching all who enter his domain with cold, calculating eyes. You and your companions are drawn into this cursed realm, where the dead walk, wolves hunt in unnatural packs, and the people live in fear of nightfall. In this gothic horror campaign, your party will explore haunted forests, crumbling ruins, and villages full of secrets. You'll encounter strange allies, cursed objects, and forgotten lore that may help you survive—or damn you further. As Strahd weaves you into his twisted game, you must uncover the truth of Barovia's curse and confront the dark destiny he has planned for you. Face deadly encounters, solve ancient mysteries, and gather powerful relics. Along the way, you’ll meet tragic characters haunted by Strahd’s obsession. The fate of Barovia—and perhaps your own souls—hangs in the balance. Will you defy the darkness and bring light to the land? Or will Barovia claim you, as it has so many before? Curse of Strahd is more than an adventure, it's a descent into dread, driven by your choices, your courage, and your will to resist the vampire lord who sees you as his next playthings. --- PLAY BY POST ACTIVITY --- PBP are slow but enjoyable. To keep things flowing for everyone, I will make a substantial post every 24-36 hours to move the game along. Between that time, I will pop into the game and answer questions and make comments for fun and help players decide their actions. I ask players if they are done in a certain scene before moving on. Players are asked to post in a similar way. Of course, we understand that sometimes life happens and you don't get the time or headspace to meet this commitment. In which case, your character can pause or be run by someone else. There can be audio summaries in Discord to help you catch up if you miss many things. An impression of time difference in PBP vs live games is 2 hours of live games is approximately 1 month PBP. Players game together happily across different life schedules and time zones.

About me
I specialise in running Dungeons & Dragons adventures and I like to inject a bit of humour into them all. I follow the nr1 rule that "D&D is about having fun!" I have been doing fantasy games all my life and love making stories for others, and enjoy seeing my players interact. I like to get to know my players and their characters and tweek the story to give them something personal to chew on. For my homebrew adventures I like to use popular cultural references in my games, especially when naming monsters (like a quiz) and crazy NPCs. I use Discord, Owlbear Rhodeo and Theatre of the mind with some AI images to make the experience more immersive. I really like running Play-by-Post adventures as we get to know each other over a longer period of timme and on a daily basis. For me running games is like spending time with people who enjoy each others creativity.
