About the adventure

Every thief dreams of the job that puts their name on the map. You and your crew are new to the trade—small jobs, small payouts, and no reputation yet. That changes when word spreads through the underworld that a reclusive master painter has vanished from his sprawling city mansion. Inside are said to be dozens of priceless works, each worth a fortune on the black market. With no guards and no one claiming the estate, it looks like the perfect heist. Until you realize the paintings aren’t just paintings. What begins as a simple burglary quickly turns into something far stranger. This campaign blends heist adventure, mystery, and surreal horror. Expect puzzles, strange worlds, clever problem solving, and the occasional desperate fight for survival. This game is perfect for players who enjoy creative storytelling, exploration, and unusual settings. The tone leans mysterious and atmospheric with moments of dark humor and chaos that always seem to follow a group of thieves in over their heads. After all… every masterpiece begins with a single brushstroke.

About me

I’ve been immersed in the world of Dungeons & Dragons and other TTRPGs since I was 10, growing up with family reunions that would often culminate in epic D&D sessions, the sound of clattering dice mixing with laughter and cheesecake. For years, I enjoyed being a player, but when I wanted to dive back into the game, I found myself without a Dungeon Master. So, I embarked on the journey of becoming one myself, not knowing that it would become a passion I deeply cherish. I have now been a Dungeon Master for around 5-6 years, running three campaigns that have enriched my love for storytelling, character development, and the thrilling twists that bring stories to life. While I may not be Matt Mercer or wield a voice actor’s arsenal of accents, my goal is to create a fun, engaging, and unforgettable experience for every player at my table. I invite you to join me at my virtual table, where adventure awaits and fun is guaranteed. Let’s roll some dice and create a story worth telling!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Theme: Youre a member of a Rookery, a gang of thieves. You may be something other then rogue, just try to fill a niche: Examples: the Mastermind-planner, and strategist, often motivated by a personal vendetta or the "impossible" nature of the job. the Muscle/ Brute-Provides protection, intimidation, and raw strength to handle obstacles The Hacker-Handles surveillance, bypassing security, and gathering intel. Grifter/Conman- Uses charm and manipulation to get the team past human obstacles. The Tech/Demolition Expert: A specialist for cracking safes or creating explosives Starting Level: 3 Species • If the setting is homebrew, use the approved species list provided, in the players quick guide for my world. Class & Multiclassing All official classes are allowed. But be in theme please Be aware: • 2014 and 2024 versions do not mix when multiclassing. If you believe your build may be extremely optimized or potentially disruptive, bring it to me before session one. We’ll review it together. Do not surprise the table with “gotcha” builds. Character Tone Restrictions (Non-Negotiable) • No Evil characters • No Edgelords • No Min/Max-only builds • No Meme characters Definitions: Edgelord — Excessive brooding, hyper-tragic backstories, lone wolf behavior, or shock-value darkness that disrupts group cohesion. Min/Maxing (for this table) — Building solely for mechanical dominance at the expense of flaws, roleplay depth, or party balance. Meme Character — A character created primarily as a joke, pop-culture reference, internet meme, parody, or absurd gimmick rather than for story immersion or thematic consistency. This includes: • “Haha funny” builds with no narrative depth • Direct copies of movie/game/anime characters • Characters designed to undercut tone for laughs Light humor is fine. Comedic characters are fine. But if the concept exists only as a punchline, it does not belong at this table. Stats We use Standard Array. Rolling creates an imbalance that can last an entire campaign. Standard Array keeps the table fair. Equipment & Starting Wealth Starting equipment cannot be sold or exchanged without approval. You must ask first. The answer may be no.

What Freydis brings to the table

My games focus on immersive storytelling and player-driven adventure. I build detailed worlds filled with memorable NPCs, layered mysteries, and environments that feel alive. Soundscapes, strong descriptions, and evolving locations help players feel like they’re truly inside the setting. Roleplay and character choices are at the heart of my tables. Players have real freedom to approach situations in their own way, and the story adapts to their decisions rather than forcing them down a fixed path. I provide clear narrative hooks and direction when needed, but the path forward is always shaped by the party. Combat is meaningful and tactical when it happens, but it isn’t the only focus of play. Some sessions may be intense battles, while others center on investigation, social encounters, or exploration that pushes the story forward. Above all, I aim to run a fair and supportive table where creativity is rewarded. I follow the rules when they matter, but I’m also a believer in the “rule of cool” when it makes the game more fun and memorable.

Safety

How Freydis creates a safe table

I want my table to be a space where players feel comfortable, respected, and able to enjoy the story without stress. Before the campaign begins, all players fill out a Lines and Veils form so I know what topics should be avoided entirely (lines) and which should fade to black or stay off-screen (veils). This helps me tailor the game to the group and prevent uncomfortable situations before they happen. I also maintain an open-door policy. If something at the table makes a player uncomfortable, they are always free to message me privately, speak up during the game, or step away without needing to explain themselves in the moment. After sessions I check in with the group to make sure everyone is feeling good about the game and to give players space to bring up concerns, feedback, or anything they want adjusted going forward. My goal is simple: everyone at the table should feel safe, heard, and able to enjoy the story together.
