About the adventure

When a lost dwarfhold is rediscovered, it's your job to get down there and clear out whatever obstacles, dangers, or mysteries have set up shop in the past millennia or so. No two rumors about these places are the same, so be ready for anything and leave some room in your pockets for stray loot. This campaign is formatted like a series of one-shots, where each quest will take one session. After completing a quest, you return to the hub, where you can upgrade the stock of the merchant shops you buy equipment from and even expand the services available. Your purchases will be fueled by gold paid out to you for completing a quest or collected during your adventures.

About me

I've been part of the TTRPG scene for over 12 years, ever since stumbling upon an ancient tale known as "YogsQuest" and I've GM-ed for 10 of those years. In September of 2025, I finally decided to fully commit to my passions. While I have almost exclusively GM-ed for DnD 5e, I've played and watched games from dozens of other systems that I'd like to run on here after gaining more hands on experience with them, including, but not limited to, the World of Darkness brand, Call of Cthulhu, a slew of Powered by the Apocalypse games and many, many more! 3 fun facts about me - I was once recruited to cohost a DnD panel at a convention, while standing in line for that very panel. - I have no less than 16 sets of shelves and drawers for my TTRPG books, miniatures, and other tabletop accessories. - My right arm is covered in DnD tattoos with more to come. Shoot me a message if you’re in the DFW area and would like to run an in person game.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will start at level 3. If you wish to generate a character's stats via rolled dice, they will be required to be built in my supplied DnD Beyond Campaign, where said rolls are public and recorded. Characters may be built using rules from the 2014 edition, so long as they have not been updated in the 2024 edition. You are allowed to have multiple characters on standby that can be swapped out between sessions or in the unlikely event of character death. It is recommended, but not required, that your characters are able to perform well underground and in the dark. Due to the nature of a West Marches Campaign, it is not recommended that a great deal of investment be made towards character backstories, but quirks and personality are always welcome. All official sources accepted, while homebrew and partnered/third party content is subject to approval.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need to have access to the following: - Dice: Physical or Digital (can be supplied by me via DnD Beyond) - Character Sheet Physical or Digital (can be supplied by me via DnD Beyond). Please send me a picture/copy of the character sheet you plan to use for a game - A microphone for the Discord call. Camera is up to your discretion. - A DnD Beyond account for access to the VTT. If you do not wish to create your character(s) in DnD Beyond, please create a placeholder character that can interact with the VTT

What Mr. Dungeonman brings to the table

I have all digital content on DnD Beyond available for you via content sharing. A link to the campaign will be provided. Premade characters will be supplied upon request. There will be a Session 0 within the first hour of the first session. This time may be spent on going over safety tools, ironing out characters, and introducing other useful information. I have access to background music and a soundboard. If a rule looks like it'll sour the game, expect it to be adjusted or ignored. If you do not have a character ready by Session 0, you can either choose to have one given to you, or collaborate with the table to make one. Other than that, I'm bringing 10 years of dedication towards weaving enjoyable tales, a passion for fostering a love of the game, and an absolute gaggle of voices

Audio from sessions will be recorded for safety and reference purposes During a session, Xs, Ns, and Os are best sent via Discord DM A short break may be held at the halfway point of a session, at request. There will be a brief period at the end of a session for review, discussion, and to address any concerns.
