About the adventure

The echos of the drums of war can still be heard through the dead gray mist to the east. Scavengers pick at the bones of Cyre looking for scraps to get by or strike it rich. Do you have what it takes to survive in the Mournlands where the spells themselves come to life and the dead do not decay? This is not Faerun. This is Eberron, where technology and magic meet and sometimes a slip of the tongue is more dangerous than the point of a dagger. The Oracle of War calls all who will listen. The great houses of Khorvaire will each pay dearly for it but the Lord of Blades has its sights on it as well. Are you cunning enough to pull off the greatest heist since the end of the war and live long enough to get paid? Find out in Salvation.

About me

I have been playing D&D since I was about 10 years old and D&D and I are the same age. I am still only first edition though. I was born in the States but moved to France in 2024 so, a lot of my previous games start at inconvenient times now and while there are game stores in town, there really aren't any players that speak English so, back to the internet. I have been using Startplaying now for about 5 years as a player and I figured I would give DMing a go.

Character creation

Creating your character

You can make a character in DnD beyond. I have all the books and I'll send you a campaign link when you sign up. All the WotC sourcebooks are usable and since it was just released, Exploring Eberron as well. If you are planning on being a warlock, your patron will be extremely involved in your characters decisions. For stats,we can do point buy. If you need help, I'm always reachable in discord.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need a computer and web browser that supports the basic requirements of Foundry VTT. This is most desktops and laptops. You'll also need a microphone, ideally a headset as they help reduce background noise and echoes. You won't need any software as Foundry VTT is web based. You'll just need to create an account (for free) and then you will be good to go. If you are new to D&D, it certainly does not hurt to have a rudimentary understanding of the game rules and your character's abilities. The D&D Free Rules (2024) set is completely free and provides most of what you'll need. The internet is also full of free articles and YouTube videos to help you learn more about anything you'd like! But experience is the best teacher! The D&D community is extremely welcoming, and there will never be any gatekeeping on my watch.

What Dave brings to the table

As a DM I like to try to create an immersive world with relevant NPCs and enemies, and with challenging combat encounters that create fun sessions for all. I will bring my Foundry VTT license, sourcebooks, modules, aftermarket maps, aftermarket supplements, custom tokens, sound effects and experience from all my previous campaigns. We will play entirely in Foundry so just bring a web browser and your imagination.

Homebrew rules

You can drink a potion as a bonus action but it you drink it as an action it cures the full amount. I.E. healing potion BA 2d4+2 A 10 Warlock patrons will have their own goals. If you didn't want them ruining you life, you should have read a book at Candlekeep instead of selling your soul. There are hero points so, it is like inspiration but after a roll, you can either reroll or at a +4 to the roll. You don't get them often and you can only have one at a time.

Safety

How Dave creates a safe table

We'll go over what can be expected from you (and me) during our Session 0. If you have any particular phobias or issues that cause you discomfort, please send me a message and let me know and I will do my best to remove, or at the least minimize, any issue(s). My tables are always a safe and inclusive space and open to all, and I expect that out of all my players.
