About Dave

I have been playing D&D since I was about 10 years old and D&D and I are the same age. I am still only first edition though. I was born in the States but moved to France in 2024 so, a lot of my previous games start at inconvenient times now and while there are game stores in town, there really aren't any players that speak English so, back to the internet. I have been using Startplaying now for about 5 years as a player and I figured I would give DMing a go.

My favorite system of all Time is

I've play DND 1st, 2nd and 5th edition as well as PF2E. I have to say that DND5E has done a great job of bringing a lot of players to the table and it has been amazing. Sure the system as some flaws but overall, it has been a great thing for the community

When I'm not running games I'm...

I can be found playing in them as well. I play in two weekly games on here. One with a group that has been together for about three years and one with a relatively new group. I used to play more at my local game stores but since I moved over to France, that's impossible.

How Dave runs games

You will love my table if: You enjoy a casual, high-fun atmosphere where jokes and "oops" moments are part of the experience. You want to see your character's backstory actually impact the world. You are a new player looking for a patient guide who will teach you the ropes without judgment. You value a safe, inclusive environment where everyone gets their turn in the spotlight. This might not be the fit if: You prefer a "gritty realism" game where characters die frequently to small mistakes. You are a "strict RAW" (Rules as Written) player who gets frustrated when the Rule of Cool takes over. I am planning to run a series of lesser known adventures such as the Oracle of War in Eberron so it will be adventures not found elsewhere on Startplaying

Like the recommended daily allowances of certain foods. We will try to follow them but sometimes, the chocolate cake looks too delicious not to have a slice.

Dave's ideal table

Relaxed and fun. To me, this is what I look forward to every week. No need to rush the sessions or the campaign. This isn't a video game to speed run and we aren't going to be filming it on YouTube. We are just here to have fun so, that is my goal for everyone at the table. There are no extra prizes for killing Strahd at level 4.

Is really into there character. Even contacting me between sessions with ideas and discussing things. The more the players are into the campaign the more fun it is for me too

If it makes you happy and it's what you find fun, then I'm all for it but don't be upset when the min comes back to bite you.

Any isms. My table is a friendly open place where every player is safe, characters, well, that's up to you.
