About the adventure
Open to new players from the US and abroad, join a floating once every 3-4 week game (Each date will be scheduled at the completion of the previous session) on Saturday Afternoon East Coast US. We will explore Calimshan thoroughly and uncover many plots and adventures in the region. You will face down genies, dragons, and any number of other wild creations through flexible play on loose rails. Characters start as new adventurers (level 1), but will grow to 10+ throughout the year. Chemistry is important, and we want to be the group for you, come to session 0 and decide if you'd like to move forward with us.

About me
I'm nearing the ol' 4-0 and I've been playing since I was a teenager in some shape or form. I like adventures that encourage players to lean into roleplay and interaction, both in and out of character. I started my journey with Heroquest and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. Since then, I've explored PirateBorg, Mothership, World of Darkness, and Pendragon to name a few. I'm currently running games in Dungeons and Dragons 5e 2024 and Pathfinder 2e Remaster.

Creating your character
Come with an idea or a firm character concept to session 0 and we will complete last minute details and discuss how the characters may be connected or distant when starting the campaign. These will be level 1 2024 D&D 5e Rules Characters using Standard Array with standard starting equipment/money. I have a D&DBeyond account with content shared for you to join, all primary content will be offered as well as some 3rd party partners as discussed individually at session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please have a D&DBeyond Account, Discord Account, and Owlbear Account. Everything else will come together in session 0. Character images will require HeroForge (We can also build a character figure for you based on an image), no payment required. I require this similarity for immersion purposes since your characters will be our most viewed objects.
What Chris is Guts brings to the table
We will follow Rules as Written except where Rule of Cool serves to flavor interactions rather than break the game. This means, you will see opportunities to be creative with your characters, but you cannot fully derail the session with your action. We'll do tactical combat using grids in Owlbear mixed with occasional cinematic battles focused on player actions rather than positions. I provide background music when appropriate, voices and accents provided to the best of my abilities, and a working knowledge of the rules. One of our party members also provides rules assistance and HeroForge assistance. I provide maps in the VTT and images of characters and monsters as needed. These are often sourced, but sometimes made lovingly in Dungeondraft. I provide basic support with character creation and level ups as well.
Homebrew rules
No outside politics, religion, or grievances during game time. Pets/Familiars/Companions may die, but they typically will benefit from death saves or provide opportunities to be readily resurrected.

Safety
How Chris is Guts creates a safe table
Reading the content warnings, you might be scared to pieces, but I promise a fun, light-hearted game whenever possible. We'll do a quick 10-15 minute Session 0 before we begin where I'll go over the plan with everyone and ask if anyone has concerns, lines, or veils. As our stories are very flexible, I can adapt on the fly as needed and prefer this as a discussion through messages or chat as there is less room for misinterpretation this way. X, N, and O cards should be submitted as a message, but, if you feel I've missed your message, I encourage you to speak up. At the end, we'll debrief and go over Stars and Wishes for the future. I'm always looking to grow.
