You wake up in a morgue with no memory of who you are, or the people who also wake up around you. And why is there a talking skull in the room?

About the adventure

This module takes place in the Planescape setting, crossroads of the multiverse, where devils are found playing dragonchess with celestials. This is the perfect game to try different character builds and concepts, as you will have to create three different variations of the same character. In this wacky adventure, you will explore Sigil, city center of the multiverse, the Outlands and its ever changing topography, as well as the Gate towns to the upper and lower planes of existance, alongside their often one-minded inhabitants. Play baseball with angels, indulge at a party with faeries, and become the quasi-deity of gazebos! Welcome to Planescape.

About me

My uncle taught me how to play RuneQuest when I was 8 years old, and I figured out the rest by reading his rulebooks of D&D edition 3.5 in his attic. Since then I've ran games filled with teenage murderhobos until I was able to play in a room full of sane people, who then trusted me to become their DM, which has now been going on since 2018. I've then explored running games online, and taught a group of new players how to play the game by running the Mines of Phandelver, which then evolved into their own personalized campaign, which has been running for over two years now. Personality-wise, think of me like a human marshmallow who giggles and likes to make funny voices. My profile picture is very accurate as you'll see when I turn on my camera during session 0.

Character creation

Creating your character

Due to the extensive character creation needed to play this module, I recommend coming in session 0 with a character concept rather than an already prepared character sheet. We will create three variations of that character concept with varying classes, backgrounds, and stories! Planescape comes with its own background options, so feel free to hold off of making any decisions until session 0 if you'd like to craft a character that fits seemlessly into this universe.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Discord will be used for voice and video chat, as well as a hub for players and GM. D&D Beyond will be used for creating character sheets. During session 0, we will determine if D&D Beyond or Roll20 will be used as virtual tabletop.

What Raphael brings to the table

I will be making character voices. There is no helping it. I also have curated playlists for ambient music, and am happy to hear your suggestions. Rule-wise, I like to follow the rule-book, until there is a narrative reason to throw all rules out the window.

Homebrew rules

-Drinking a potion is a bonus action, and applying it to someone else is an action. -Keep track of the ammo you use in battle! After the fight, roll a d20 for each ammo you used, and any roll at 10 and above is an ammo recovered. -Everyone has a luck score of 10. A d20 roll at or under your luck is a success. A 1 is a critical luck, raising your score by 1. A 20 lowers your score by 1. It's pure luck!

Safety

How Raphael creates a safe table

A community agreement will be available on the discord server, as well as the Lines and Veils, which will be gone through during session 0. We will also determine how the group prefers to address their personal boundaries, and preferences in terms of aftercare.
