About the adventure
The Series: Each session will center around adventurers that have responded to the Help Wanted flyer for the apothecary. The eccentric apothecarist is not the most likable but has a reputation for his inventive and potent creations. Partly because he is known for using reagents most wouldn't consider an option due to their rarity and difficulty to use. As age has begun to set in, he no longer has the time nor constitution to trek around for some of the rarer ingredients he needs to fulfill his shop orders. His orders often have a deadline, meaning the adventurers have a deadline if they wish to be paid for their efforts. We will discuss the pass/fail criteria for the item and the expected time frame. If a break needs to be called, I will pause the in-game clock for it so no one has to worry about the pressure of time. This series is loosely interconnected, but designed for anyone to be able to drop in for a game without committing to a whole campaign. Characters are also welcome to return for different adventures! Whenever a game is scheduled, the title of that particular adventure in the series will be posted so players can avoid repeat games. There generally isn't extreme content in these but I will always include any potential concerns in the session-specific information and invite prospective players to reach out in advance to discuss any concerns or request clarification. I do swear a lot though. Sessions will vary as far as recommended character levels. This is not a fully open sand-box setting, as each session has a defined mission with criteria for success. Players should come with characters ready to cooperate with their fellow adventurers. A lone-wolf/anti-social/grumpy persona is fine, however trying to antagonize/sabotage/abandon your party is not. Session-specific: # of players: 3-5 Level range: 3-5 Experience Level: Beginner-friendly, but does assume you know the basics Potential content warnings: Typical combat-related violence, language Average time of session: 3-4hrs

About me
I've been DMing games for almost a decade, primarily DND5e. I am happily a forever DM. I love doing homebrew games that allow me to dive into world building, particularly when I can build the world around the players at the table. I also love doing one-shots to provide opportunities for those that don't have the bandwidth for a long-term table commitment but still want to enjoy throwing dice! My games tend to be on the goofier side, but I also have yet to find a group that wants to veer into more serious territory. I'm really curious to veer out of my DND comfort zone and eventually try some other systems both as a player and GM! On my radar are Call of Cthulu, Dread, MOTW, Pathfinder, Shadowdark, and Daggerheart.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
The game will be run using Discord for the session itself and characters created through DNDBeyond. You will need to have accounts for both already created, and will receive invitations to a Discord Server and DNDBeyond campaign prior to the game. Your character sheet should be submitted for approval preferably 24hrs prior to start of the session, but no later than 2 hours prior to scheduled start-time. You will need to keep HP/spell slots/conditions updated as we play in DNDBeyond. If you have questions, please reach out in advance of the session! As far dice go, I'll never tell someone that can't throw physical dice to play DND! There may be times I request a virtual roll in DNDBeyond, but typically physical dice are fine.
What Dungeon Burrito brings to the table
I tend to make my own maps and always try to utilize some form of background sound, depending on the setting and what is available/makes sense. For this series of one-shots, you can expect a mix of combat, dungeon-diving, and various puzzles. My goal is provide you with a session of fun, and hopefully some loot for your character if the mission is successfully completed!

How Dungeon Burrito creates a safe table
I ask each player to direct message me on Discord prior to start of the game any content boundaries or preferences. At the start of each session, I will identify any potentially triggering content and pause for anyone at the table to message me with concerns. Players are ALWAYS welcome to stop me mid-game if they need to comment or clarify on something they are worried may veer into uncomfortable territory. I will ask if this is Red (hard boundary) or Yellow territory (concern and need to clarify before continuing/nuanced continuation). I will give them the option to state openly or if that is uncomfortable, call a brief group break so they can message me and we can discuss the next best step if we need to pivot directions. Any breaks called (esp safety-related ones) will absolutely not impact the time requirement of the missions so no one has to be concerned about impacting the game/group by speaking up. I also will not tolerate any shaming or huffing by other players when someone does speak up. Speaking up is important but can be very difficult. I do not tolerate anyone making that harder for another player.
