They truly take the time to prepare for sessions and engage their players in thinking about the story they want to tell and explore. The result ends up feeling more like a home game among long time friends rather than virtual strangers. I appreciate the effort they spend in cool down as well so that everyone has a chance to reflect on the session together.
WARNING: Do not go lightly to his table, for you will be forever changed. If you hate a wealth of creative homebrew, this is not the place for you. If you hate feeling like you’re part of a community and playing with friends, this is not the place for you. If you hate prioritizing story, roleplay and character development in the theatre of the mind over fighting the monster of the week on module maps, this is not the place for you. If all of that sounds like what you crave from your experience, remember my warning and do not go lightly. You will be forever changed.
Derrick is kind, thoughtful and always willing to collaborate with his players on creating a great story together. I’m especially grateful for the efforts he goes to to make sure you have voice and choice and for taking time to make sure you are comfortable with the game mechanics and virtual environment. Rich, engaging storytelling at its finest!
I really appreciated the efforts Kit made to ensure a safe, fun space for people to play! I very hope to be able to join their table again in the future and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a GM that is thoughtful of their players experience both in the content presented and in providing creative opportunities for roleplay.
If you are looking for an experience that is theatrical in its execution of setting the scene through music, maps and character acting, Euan is your DM. He was my first GM on SPG and taught me so much about how to play TTRPGs from character development and game mechanics to navigating the websites. If it weren’t for the changes to my schedule, I’d be in every game I could get my hands on!
