About Dungeon Burrito

I've been DMing games for almost a decade, primarily DND5e. I am happily a forever DM. I love doing homebrew games that allow me to dive into world building, particularly when I can build the world around the players at the table. I also love doing one-shots to provide opportunities for those that don't have the bandwidth for a long-term table commitment but still want to enjoy throwing dice! My games tend to be on the goofier side, but I also have yet to find a group that wants to veer into more serious territory. I'm really curious to veer out of my DND comfort zone and eventually try some other systems both as a player and GM! On my radar are Call of Cthulu, Dread, MOTW, Pathfinder, Shadowdark, and Daggerheart.

I got started GMing...

After my first experience with a DM that made unwanted advances above table. I was put off for a long time until I realized I could take the reins! I discovered a whole passion in worldbuilding and storytelling and haven't looked back!

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Chaotic, detailed, and goofy!

When I'm not running games I'm...

pursuing other creative interests or real life adventure!

How Dungeon Burrito runs games

My goal as a DM is fun, first and foremost. If anyone at the table is bored or having a bad time then it's time to shift direction. The complex challenges that come with intertwining player stories together and the on-the-spot creativity are what made me fall in love.

Featured Prompts

I once ran a session...

Of 10+ players with an age range of 16-60. And probably the most chaotic one shot I've ever run due to the number of players and the extremely short time frame available!

I prep by

Creating a notion database and accompanying spreadsheets with way too much detail. I don't usually don't use half of it, but I love having options and back up ideas to pull from!

When it comes to voices

I always encourage but never require. My voice ranges are pretty abysmal and sometimes I struggle to remember which of my characters had which voice as a DM, so I never put judgement or requirements on players.

Dungeon Burrito's ideal table

My ideal table is full of players that love to tell a good story. I encourage players to think as their character would, but also with respect to the story that all of us are telling. My preferred games usually have a good mix of everything, much like a good burrito!

Featured Prompts

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

Chaos, shenanigans, curveballs, and not taking things too seriously (at least, not all of the time).

I think it's a red flag when players...

Disregard how their actions affect other players and the overall direction of the game.

My table is not the place for...

Crossing clearly communicated boundaries, bullying, or harassment. I have no problem making it clear when a behavior will not be tolerated.
