About the adventure
Welcome to Paryllaxx. In a distant corner of the multiverse, there is a world the size of a brown dwarf star. An accelerated planetary rotation have twisted the landmasses into what appears from the heavens as a large, unending spiral. This, in turn, has caused the oceans to follow suit and is the reason the entire oceanic flow has been named the Spyral Sea by those who travel it. Far down the Spyral, we fix our gaze at the end of an intense battle…the final fight in what has been a long quest for all involved. Nothing is known regarding the catalyst of this fight, but we see that the Adventurers are about to win. What the Adventurers cannot see is that the Enemy they fight has changed tactics. The Enemy no longer fights to win, but merely to stall. Stall for what? We can only assume the blinding prismatic light that explodes from the scene of the battle and envelops everything. Our gaze is thrown back, and we lose sight of the continent completely. A new pinpoint of light captures our attention far, far back up the Spyral. The light emanates from the middle of the continent of Xutoris, a circular landmass with a 20,000-mile diameter. It is said in legend that this continent existed on another world long ago, and was brought to Paryllaxx by the gods in answer to a massive prayer. Whether you believe the legend or not, Xutoris resides on top of a massive conduit of divine energy…known by the locals as the Gods’ Leyline. More common arcane leylines run through Xutoris as well, but their energies pale in comparison to the power that resides in the Gods’ Leyline…so much so that Xutoris is ruled by two separate Archclerics known only by their titles: The Prelate of Harmony, a cleric who worships the Morninglord; and the Foreteller of Bones, an equally-powerful cleric who worships the Maid. These two clerics have divided the continent between their factions–The Prelate of Harmony in the western half, with the Foreteller of Bones in the east. As if the religious divide was not opposite enough, Xutoris is held under a mysterious curse--it is always daytime on the western half of Xutoris...and always night in the eastern half. Between the two factions, a series of towers stretch out across the border which house the Way of the Tranquil Palm: warrior monks sworn to maintain the peace between the Light and Dark sides of Xutoris…and are prepared to do that through the last resort of violence if necessary. The central tower is home to the leader of the Tranquil Palm, a monk known as The Quiet Emissary. Today was to be a day of meditation and reflection for the monks of that tower, until a loud explosion erupts from deep underneath the stronghold. We travel miles underground to the source of the disruption and find…you. All of you awaken in the center of an arcane circle of teleportation. You are clothed in rags, barely conscious…and possess no memory at all of who you are or anything that had transpired before you found yourself here….

Meet the Game Master
About me
Everyone has a story in them. Let me help you find yours. It can be hard for those who want to play TTRPGs, but either can’t find a group or just don’t know how to get started. Let me make that easier for you by offering my services as a professional Game Master for whatever game system you’re interested in playing. Let’s build a story together, while leaving you the freedom to explore and enjoy the world you’re creating without being bogged down by rules and multiple plotlines to keep track of. I've been doing this for over 30 years and have garnered a reputation for being a little outside the box but--at the same time--being 100% inclusive. The goal is for everyone to have fun and for nobody to feel left out. Also, if you see me advertising a game with no players yet, and the scheduled day and time doesn't work, message me with a day and time that would work and I can possibly move it to that schedule. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Creating your character
Character creation will take place during Session 0, but you are welcome to get a head start if you like. My basic guidelines are as follows: 1. Stats are determined by rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest per stat. 2. Leveling up is milestone-based. 3. Encumbrance is enforced, but coin weight is ignored. 4. I allow all official content (including Unearthed Arcana), as well as most 3rd-party content with prior approval.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should make sure they at least have a working mic and access to D&D Beyond and Discord.
What Nemesis Noir brings to the table
Apart from using Discord, I also have access to several sourcebooks, as well as a D&D Beyond subscription. I'll be using the 2024 rules for this campaign, but I do have a few house rules of my own that I will discuss with you as a group.
Homebrew rules
I have options for homebrew rules; we'll talk about them during Session Zero to see if the group wants to use them or not.
