About the adventure
Lancer is a sci-fi tabletop RPG focused on pilots and their customizable mechs, combining deep tactical combat with narrative roleplaying. Players assume the role of "lancers" who work as mercenaries, soldiers, or agents in a vast, future galaxy. The game features a detailed system for building and upgrading mechs, turn-based mech combat on a grid or hex map, and an optimistic but complex setting where a fragile utopia is maintained by powerful factions. Come learn what YOUR Lancers are capable of today!

Meet the Game Master
About me
[I RUN DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS 2024 EDITION] "Ryan does an incredible job making you feel included and make you feel comfortable with speaking your ideas. He tells you the mechanics of how to achieve your ideas and enjoys your successes with you. "200+ games sitting at this man's table I feel more than qualified to tell you that Ryan is a fantastic DM. He is knowledgeable of the rules, but tends to help you find ways to subvert them just enough to keep the most important rule of all. The rule of cool." Hello! Thanks for considering me to be your Game Master (GM)! My name is Ryan and I can take you on an exciting adventure! It started for me back in high school, almost ten years ago. My best friend and were always drafting up board games and were eventually introduced to tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs) through a mutual friend who GMed for us. I loved how much more immersed and interactive a roleplaying game was compared to the board games and video games I grew up playing. Needless to say, I was hooked! Through my time as a GM since then, I've helped tables develop a community aspect. Here you don't just show up and leave on time like some 9-5 job, you're here to make memories with some awesome players who love the game as much as you. No matter who you are or what you believe, let's have fun together and see our heroes in exciting action against mighty foes!

Creating your character
Players may opt to make characters before joining in Lancer's CompCon program/website, but are not required to do ahead of time. I'll help players create and complete characters during our Session Zero, and provide the resources needed to do so. Or if you join after, we'll schedule a paid 1-1. Mechanically, players will begin with LL0 (License Level) characters, created using the basic rules for character creation found in the Core Rulebook. All options made available via officially-released supplements are acceptable, including talents, mechs, equipment, etc.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All the below, and more, found on the Google Document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DJ6VJIzz0Mv4F-UgcE3fgPdCXE_JHiXt0NekGC9iPmo/edit?usp=sharing 1. Discord: Players will need a Discord account to join a server that I will have available for each session's call (video optional). 2. Sqyre/Foundry: Players will need to make a free account at Sqyre.app the hosting service I use for my Foundry VTT servers. This will be used to log into the virtual tabletop for our game sessions. 3. CompCon: Players may also wish to create an account at https://compcon.app/, Lancer's official online character creator and manager. Characters and mechs can be imported from CompCon into our Foundry VTT server to save time, but this is not a requirement; we can also build characters within the VTT. Some can be found here: https://retrogrademinis.com 4. Art: Players can choose to create and submit any art they would like to use for their pilot characters, their mechs, or any other elements they wish to create for their characters and wish to see in-game.
