About the adventure
The Snowfall Coven or the Ambertwine Coven. Locked in constant conflict, these two sometimes stay in a cold war of sorts and sometimes escalate to outright combat, yet they both strive to remain out of sight of the average citizens of the City of Everbloom. Each is like a family, taking care of and looking out for their vampire siblings, and if it wasn't for the fact that it's almost impossible for two elder vampires to get along, and if there wasn't a constant competition for resources, then the covens may actually find they are not that dissimilar. As it is though, the rulers of the city see their conflict as little more than two rival gangs occasionally feuding and then both doing their best to clean up the mess afterwards, a view that is, honestly, pretty fair and not entirely wrong. You came to this city for a reason, be that a cure for an ailment you have, a place to belong, a need for purpose or something else, and despite your best attempts you have not found it in the city walls. In the end, it finds you. An item has been found by the wizards of the city that can turn water to blood. Both covens want it, and the leaders of the city don't want either to have it less it throw off the balance between the two and let one gain too much power. To that end, both covens could use a bit more man power, a few new members of the family as it where, and that offer has been made to you. Choose a side and help your new family in their path forward. Note: dnd vampires are great! For a grimdark depressing campaign, something which is very much not my style. To that end the vampires in this campaign are a complete rework from the ground up with some inspiration from dnd and some inspiration from other sources. They are generally more neutral aligned, neither side of this story is the good guys or the bad guys they are just in inevitable conflict. Please dont come here having researched dnd vampires and assuming you know how the vampires in this story work. And likewise please don't leave here and go argue with another dm that vampires work like they do here. Thank you!

About me
I've been dming for my friend group for 4 or 5 years now and while I recently got a chance to play dnd as a player I've found that I miss dming more. I enjoy building storys and watching players interact with them. Feel free to derail the campain a bit and have fun, the best part is the chaos, so long as its good chaos

Creating your character
We will start at Level 3 and will go over character creation in session 0 Technical Character creation stuff - Use the 2024 rule set where available (use 2014 if the thing you want is not available in 2024). - if you are using a sublclass, spell ect. from a book that is not one I own ask me to okay it first, the same goes for any homebrew things that show up in character creation due to content sharing. Feel free to use anything from a book I do own, or the awakened race that I made if you want. - If your background dose not give you spells or a feat you may add a origin feat to your character as a starting feat of sorts. - Start with 1 uncommon magic item (The Mizzium Apparatus is banned) - Use point-buy Less technical Character creation stuff: - Write a bit of backstory one page is fine, but no more than 4 please - Be a team player in and out of character. its fine to have some party conflict but it should not escalate into one character going off on their own. - Don't be that guy who goes off on their own >:3 - if you wanna minmax just know that combat's probably not going to be a challenge, I am not a combat dm - Dont be a 'murder hobo' my games are always rp heavy and combat light, murder hoboing disrupts the game flow by quite a lot never mind disrupting the other players ability to enjoy the game. - Have enough motivation to adventure with the party, be that for money, glory, or fun.... Or just let yourself get dragged along, thats fine aswell! (In this case this means having an in character reason to join and remain loyal to a vampire coven)
Our current party consists of 1 paladin

What Wyvern brings to the table
I like to embrace the Rule of Cool, so long as you can justify something to me you can try it at least once. Frequently this has involved people using spells no traditionally but I encourage you to try weird things! a also have a good number of books on dndbeyond for everyone to use. Honestly I prioritize player fun and player agency, if you decide as a group to derail the campaign for a bit then that's fine with me I've been told that my settings "do not quite match traditional dnd" so keep that in mind. This is doubly true in this case because the vampire I'm using is only inspired by the traditional dnd vampire and really not accurate to dnd lore.
Homebrew rules
I have a whole homebrew race called awakened if you wanna play a monkey or a lamp! (How you would be a vampire lamp I have no clue) Combat notes: - A healing potion can be used on yourself as a bonus action but giving it to someone else is an action. Go ahead and throw them at people if you want! Its funny, but I'm gonna make you roll an improvised weapon attack (at advantage on an ally/ at disadvantage if said ally is prone :p) and if you miss you waisted the potion, its gonna break if you hit the ground. - just so everyone knows enemies will either target whoever's closet to them or whoever is the biggest threat. If it seems like they could reasonable go after several people I'll roll for who they target. - Flanking gives advantage (which is standard but a lot of people change it so I am listing it here)

How Wyvern creates a safe table
We will make the Lines and Veils document together during session 0 as we are making our characters. If you have something you want to add to it but do not want the other players to know it was you who added it then you can private message me at that time. We will also use the x,n,o cards to make sure everyone is doing okay though you can also just say something if you are comfortable doing so. You can send the cards via message either privately or by @ing me in the server. Feel free to discuss the game and any issues you had in the discord server after the game, you will have a text channel for doing so. All of the things against the code of conduct, i.e. sex crimes, anything remotely lewd with minors, disrespecting someone's pronouns ect are automatically and obviously against the rules with an absolute zero tolerance policy, you will be removed. Note, I wont kill anyone's pets if you do not actively bring them into combat or put them at risk. There will be monsters so there will be death and such, they do hunt people after all.
