About the adventure

This game is on-going!! Currently in the second adventure with players at level 3. Welcome, adventurers, to a Dungeons & Dragons 5E campaign rooted in the vibrant anthology Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel. In this game, we’ll travel beyond the familiar and typical into realms shaped by wonder, history, and heart. From deserts to jungles, to night markets, to celebrations, each land offers a unique cultural experience that we’ll explore together through compelling stories, powerful encounters, and meaningful choices. This campaign is a balanced mix of roleplay, mystery, puzzle-solving, and dynamic combat. No matter your playstyle or level of experience, this game will be customized to fit your preferences. Each module we explore is woven together through the Radiant Citadel. Your characters will shape the legacy of these lands through each adventure. The major themes of this game will be exploring new lands, learning about diverse cultures, and seeing the importance of maintaining culture. This game welcomes both newcomers and veterans. Whether you’re rolling your first d20 or returning for a new kind of adventure, the goal is to create a collaborative, inclusive, and imaginative game. We’ll emphasize character-driven storytelling and player agency while honoring the diverse cultural inspirations that make Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel so special.

Character creation

Creating your character

I will be running a free session 0 to discuss the campaign, but please come prepared with a character concept. This session will be used to flesh out the character and find how they fit within the setting. Any official D&D content is free game. We will be running with the D&D 2024 Rules. If you want to play homebrew, it will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Characters will be starting at level 1. I highly prefer characters being made on DnDBeyond, but I will work with you. Any further questions, please ask!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I have a Discord server where you will be invited to run our games. A D&D Beyond account is highly preferred for creating characters. I am okay with any dice. I will be using Kenku FM within Discord for music and ambience. I will be running my games on OwlBear Rodeo, but an account is not required, just a tab on a web browser.

What Mocke Adventures - Lawson brings to the table

I will be attempting voices, but I am not a voice actor. I will always have optional ambience and music for my games. I will always let the dice tell a tale and encourage the rule of cool. My combat will progressively get harder as we go, and I will try to include overlying mechanics or additional goals; rarely will combat just be hack-and-slash. I will also create custom items and rewards throughout the game. Character Death is never set in stone. Your character stays dead only if you wish.

Homebrew rules

Drinking potions is always a bonus action; healing potions can be drunk as an action to receive the maximum possible healing. After reaching level 3, I highly encourage scars as a result of going down in combat. These scars can be just flavor or have mechanics if you wish. Ability checks can be made in combat for free with a much higher DC; if you choose to spend your action, the DC will be a lot lower. I may introduce additional homebrew rules to increase diverse gameplay down the road, but if they are disliked by the party, I will happily remove them.

Safety

How Mocke Adventures - Lawson creates a safe table

Safety and enjoyment are my top priorities. I will provide a line and veil document before session 0. I will also have an optional Google Form to dive more into one's preferences, sensitivities, and accommodations. Sensitive topics will be shared in session 0, and any further clarifications are welcome. Real-world topics such as politics, racism, and sexual violence will never be present in my games.
