About me
No time like now to embark on an adventure! Hi I'm Darrian I have been playing TTRPG for 4 years and continue to grow as a game master. I look forward to the stories we can craft together. I love all kinds of games and entertainment, if there is a nerdy topic, I’ll argue I know a decent amount about it, if not you’re going to have to show me! As for TTRPG specifically I consider them one of the strongest forms of entertainment out there. I've grown up analyzing and breaking down video games, board games, story development and art to understand how it evokes feeling and experiences on to an audience. At my core I believe that games are a step above the rest of media forms because you are, quite literally, at the center of the story. I am a Theater Technician by trade so I am always looking at the finer details to make sure performances are enhanced to the top quality they can be. I work with lighting, audio, and visual effects to make sure the strongest quality can shine be it musical, acting, concert, or even just speech. You can trust I’m doing all I can to provide a cultivated sense of creativity and enthusiasm. I currently study at Savannah College of Art and Design to further my career and knowledge in video game development. I study art, game-mechanics, story writing and hope to be making my own games one day. I have even gone as far as to pick up traditional weapon martial-arts and self-defense to get as close to an understanding as possible. (Yes, I am a real swordsman in training! Currently Rank: 3/8 ) I am always happy to meet my fellow nerds!

Creating your character
Session 0 or pre-game chat to discuss rules, expectations, and accessibility Players are encouraged to try and create their own PCs(Playable Characters) - Create a character using the D&D Beyond Character Creator Full Library (provided after booking) - There will be a list of pre-generated PC for anyone who would like to utilize them. If you need any sort of aid creating a character it can be done prior to/ during session 0. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to have at least an idea of what kind of character you want to play to keep time courteous. Always feel free to message the DM with questions, concerns, or ideas you want to share. Any players wanting to be more prepared should consult a copy of 5th Edition "The Players Handbook". (Can be accessed via content sharing once you confirm your seat in the adventure)

Homebrew rules
My Common House Rules: Death Saves are rolled by DM; and results are discretly messaged to that player, this adds suspense to the party by not knowing how long a hurt character has to live. Critical Hits; or crits are max damage +1 die before modifiers; hit them hard and feel great about it. No one likes rolling low numbers on crits! Anything for the lore; the rules are enforced for balance and structure but this is not hard law, the game is about story telling and while laws of gaming physics will not be broken they can be flexed and twisted to result in anything more exciting or dramatic, final decision is always up to DM discretion only.

How Darrian creates a safe table
Players are encouraged to be creative with their approaches, any ideas are up for attempt or discussion, at the least it’s worth a good laugh! This is a story revolving around the party and lets players dive into how they want to explore and handle their situations. Players can expect a light rule gaming experience with a moderate pace set. Should any topics of game or player discussion make anyone uncomfortable players have the right to discuss their thoughts and concerns openly, and if need take a step away for breaks or self-composure. Players are allowed to directly or discreetly inform the DM of such concerns and will help facilitate anything necessary if anyone is in a position of discomfort.
