About the adventure

THIS ADVENTURE WILL RUN ON THE 1ST AND 3RD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH. Let's learn to play Dungeons and Dragons and have fun doing it! We will achieve this through a campaign that emphasizes the best part of playing an adventure using, roleplay, exploration, and combat for both novice and experienced players. This campaign may span as few as three sessions or as many as six, depending on your preference. This is a beginner-friendly game, and we will make use of the Virtual Tabletop on DnD Beyond Maps and discord for our voice communications. More importantly, we will begin playing the world's greatest roleplaying game.

About me

Dungeons and Dragons is a favorite game of mine and I have been a GM for the last few years which has been instrumental in building my love for this game. I enjoy helping new players learn the ins and outs, but I also like to GM for experienced players as well. I feel the online community is one of the most welcoming and encouraging group of players around. I also enjoy in person games. Currently, I GM 2 long term in-person campaigns and various in-person one shots. I want to branch out into online gaming to learn more about my craft and reach a broader audience. All of my games are LGBTQ+ friendly, and I welcome all people that want to join my adventures. PS yes, I'm that old...

Character creation

Creating your character

Once you join the campaign, you will create your character on dndbeyond. Once you start the process, use the directions below to set up the preferences for this game. Then you can build your character from there using the 2024 PHB, which is shared on the campaign and the site will use for options. Let me know if you have any questions.

The current party

Please read the character creation information below with care. The rules for how to build your character are important for the game. Once you start the character creation process, --uncheck all sources except for Expanded Rules, --uncheck partnered content. --check Dice Rolling, --check Optional Class Features, --check Customize Your Origin, --leave Milestone, --keep HP as Fixed, --check Feats and Multiclass Requirements, --show Level-Scaled Spells, --keep Use Encumbrance, check Ignore Coin Weight, --leave Modifiers Top. ***DO NOT ROLL FOR ABILITY SCORES. ONLY USE STANDARD ARRAY OR POINT BUY.***

What to expect

Preparing for the session

No webcam is required, but you will need to have a laptop or computer, (phone only may not work well), and a microphone for voice communications. You will need an account on dndbeyond and one on discord. The free account for each will work fine.

What Bob brings to the table

I will bring a love of the game, play resources like maps, source books and tokens. I am not a voice actor, so the only real rule I have for roleplaying is to play the game as your character would act and react if they were a living creature. If you have a voice skill and would like to voice your character in a way that feels right for you, please do so.

Safety

How Bob creates a safe table

I will be sending out a link to the campaign on dndbeyond as well as a link to the service we will use for our voice communications. This will be done once we have a minimum of 3 players ready to start. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me through the message system here on Start Playing Games.
