About the adventure
"The greed of mortals has awakened a powerful entity long thought destroyed. For eons, this mighty champion of the gods has been imprisoned in the darkest depths of Exandria. His name has been forgotten, as have his heroic deeds. Languishing in despair, he calls out for new heroes to save him." - Call of the Netherdeep Call of the Netherdeep will take your character from levels 3 to 13 in a heroic adventure spanning the world of Exandria, where the continents were the very battlegrounds that the gods once fought upon in the age of the Calamity. You will start in the wastes of Xhorhas, a land once belonging to the Betrayor Gods now populated by diverse creatures and people often considered to be monsters by their neighbor, and eventually to the Jewel of Hope, Ank'Harel, one of the greatest city-states known to this age. Here you will experience your own hero's journey, while also competing against a rival party with their own motivations and flaws. All while the ominous red moon Ruidus watches over you all, twisting your fate should you prove powerful enough to change history.

About me
I have a decade of storytelling and game mastering experience through Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire the Masquerade, Call of Cthulhu, and much more. I have been both a player and a DM since 2014 and I currently DM a few campaigns for my home group and online. I never use AI in any of my games, everything comes directly from my own head. If any of my games intrigue you, if you want your story to be remembered for years to come, and if you have the itch to play and need to scratch it, I welcome you to join me and make memories together!
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
We will be using 2024 rules for this campaign, with expanded material allowed. Character creation will occur during Session 0, where we will all come together with concepts that tie your character directly to the game. I use a modified stat array (17, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8) so that everyone feels effective and strong from the start of the campaign. Characters will be made in DNDBeyond. Blood Hunters are allowed for this campaign, as well as any material from the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount and Tal'dorei Campaign Setting Reborn. Additionally, a new species is available to play: the Gnoll.
The party is currently level 3. We have: - Sea Elf Oath of Vengeance Paladin - Hobgoblin Abjurer Wizard - Tiefling Circle of Stars Druid
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord account, Roll20 Account, DND Beyond Account, and the Beyond20 Google Chrome extension. Beyond20 allows for integration between DNDBeyond and Roll20. We will use Discord for voice chat. Note: Making accounts on Roll20 and DND Beyond are free.
What Blake brings to the table
I provide a wide range of character voices and personalities to make NPCs come to life. I prioritize roleplay in my games, and put the narrative above all. I also provide custom music playlists for my sessions to add to the atmosphere of play. I try to balance between rules as written and rule of cool, allowing flexibility in the moment should the stakes be high enough.
Homebrew rules
1. Flanking: When in melee range, you get a +2 bonus to attack if your opponent is threatened by a character or a creature friendly to you on the opponent's opposite border or opposite corner. 2. Attacks of Opportunity: You do not provoke attacks of opportunity from an opponent when leaving combat if that opponent has an ally of yours in combat with them. 3. Reactions: You may use your reaction to block an attack of opportunity from an opponent (remember: you only get one reaction per round of combat)

How Blake creates a safe table
I will be using Monte Cook's RPG Consent Checklist to establish Lines and Veils for the game. The content warnings listed are themes that CAN be present in the game, but are subject to become a line/veil at any time. At the end of the game session, we will debrief for 5-10 minutes on events that happened in the game so we can decompress, highlight the good aspects of the session, and work through any potential bleed outside of the game.
